In 1988 Mr. Audino’s father past away. His mother, needing help with activities of daily living, moved to an assisted-living community. Audino would visit her – and her new group of friends – they would all comment on how nice it w

as to live in a place where they felt safe, comfortable and cared for. Inspired by his Mother, Mr. Audino with son Norman, poured his time and energy into renovating the one-time Levy Mill complex on Austin Avenue into a Senior Living Community. In 1997 Cortland Place's doors opened and a vibrant senior community emerged. Cortland Place offers Independent & Assisted Living, Respite, Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Long Term and Alzheimer's & Dementia Care. Some of our services and amenities include:

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed one of those perfect Rhode Island summer days! 🌊☀️

We headed to beautiful Narragansett, where we started the day by stopping at the seawall to take in the breathtaking ocean views, breathe in the fresh salt air, and enjoy the peaceful sound of the waves.

Next, we made our way to Jimmy’s Port Side Restaurant for what many agreed was some of the best seafood around! 🍤🦞 From lobster rolls and fried shrimp to fried whole belly clams, stuffies, clam cakes, and chowder, there was something delicious for everyone to enjoy.

After lunch, we spent time people watching and sharing wonderful memories of summers spent in Galilee. Listening to the stories and laughter made the day even more special.

Of course, no trip to Narragansett would be complete without a stop at Aunt Carrie’s Ice Cream! 🍦 It was the perfect sweet ending to a beautiful day filled with sunshine, great food, wonderful conversations, and even better company.

Days like these create memories that last a lifetime. 💙

🌻 Our Annual Sunflower Adventure! 🌻

Today we enjoyed our annual sunflower outing to Buttonwood Farm in Griswold, Connecticut—known as the Sunflower Capital of New England! The fields were absolutely breathtaking, filled with thousands of beautiful sunflowers that made for the perfect summer day.

After taking in the gorgeous scenery, we headed to one of our favorite lunch spots where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal. Some of the favorites included baked stuffed shrimp, shrimp scampi, and cod dinners.

It was a wonderful day filled with beautiful views, great food, lots of laughter, and even better company. A great time was had by all! 💛🌻

At 93 years young, Helen reminds us that style, confidence, and a little dancing never go out of fashion. Wearing a beautiful outfit generously donated by one of our staff members, she brightened the lobby with her joyful personality and wonderful spirit.
