Good news for South Carolina!

The proposed $27 million cut to Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services was not included in the final state budget agreement.

HCBS helps thousands of South Carolinians with disabilities receive services and supports in their homes and communities.

We'll continue following the budget and sharing updates that matter to individuals with disabilities and their families.

This is encouraging news, but our work isn't finished. The Arc of South Carolina will continue advocating for strong Medicaid services, community supports, and opportunities for people with disabilities across our state.

These services are vital for so many deserving citizens of SC. Cutting dollars here isn’t what we want to be know for.. we are better than that. Let them hear why and how you care! These are challenging times for small businesses, particularly those in the allied health fields. Big decisions are being made right now in the SC legislature related to budget and therapy coverage. Of course we can’t control all decision making but we do know that this team of therapists we have is worth fighting for. The only people more worthy are the kids we help and their families! We are so thankful for the team we’ve built over 23 years and genuinely hope we are able to help families for many years to come! Thank you to everyone who keeps emailing and calling your state representatives and senators to encourage a fully funded Medicaid budget that prioritizes kids who deserve our help and love! ❤️🇺🇸❤️

We are surrounded by wonderful moms in our daily lives and our work lives! We see you in our waiting room, learning from our therapists, and doing whatever is necessary to make your child’s life the best it can be. You are all amazing! In our Friday feels over here.. and joining the graduation posts! We love and her genuine love for the kids she sees! She sent me this pic and wrote: This cutie pie graduated and my feelings are coming out my eyes a little bit! I got her fresh out of the NiCU with an NG tube and here she is ready to take on the world! 🎓💝🎓 We really do have the best job!!

We love this time of year with its innate reminder that the most beautiful of flowers bloom in their own time. Working with our kids and their families is a wonderful daily reminder that the journey to a goal really can be the most memorable part! And how lucky are we to witness tiny miracles every week?! In this season of awards and accolades let’s remember to celebrate every accomplishment along the way! Everyone’s version of success is worthy of celebration! 🎈🥰🎊🎓❤️

April showers DO bring May flowers… and bugs and dump trucks and dinosaurs too?! We love the creativity our therapists bring to each session. There is a reason PLAY is in the name of our company. It is a crucial part of a child learning (and maintaining) new skills! Plus, this just looks fun!!
