At Especially Children, we’re doing more than teaching math and reading. We’re teaching life skills, exposing our children to new experiences, and showing them the possibilities and opportunities that are available to ALL of them! 💯

Summer has officially come to an end! The kiddos are back in school, but we couldn’t close out our summer without sharing our LAST field trip (OG center)…

WE WENT TO CLEMSON UNIVERSITY!!!! 🐅🧡💜

And it was AWESOME!!! Our older school-aged children toured Clemson University, saw some of the athletes, and got a firsthand look at college life.

One of our favorite parts was spending time with Clemson professors who talked with the children about what they want to be when they grow up and broke down some of the steps to get there—in terms they could understand! Of course, they threw in a little Clemson recruiting too! 😂🐅

We loved this experience so much that Clemson is officially going on our annual summer field trip list!

Sometimes children have to SEE the possibilities to BELIEVE the possibilities. ❤️

We had a grand time at the State House advocating for South Carolina families! Representatives from Especially Children Child Development Center, The Childcare Tribe, and Early Childhood Common Agenda were proud to stand together and make our voices heard.

We had the opportunity to speak directly with state leadership and share real-life stories about how the pause of the scholarship program is impacting families, children, and childcare providers across our communities. The experience exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful to be part of meaningful conversations that can create real change.

Advocacy matters — and we look forward to going back and continuing the fight for our families and the future of childcare!

A HUGE Thank You to South Carolina House Representative, Wendell Jones, for giving us this amazing opportunity!

Sight Savers came to Especially Children to provide FREE vision screenings, identify possible vision concerns, and help children receive proper treatment — ensuring that vision challenges do not interfere with learning or daily life.

In addition, FOX Carolina and Spinx’s Director of Community Relations stopped by to support and connect with us.

We are so grateful for our incredible community partners for helping make this a successful event! Our children truly enjoyed the experience and learned so much about the importance of vision and eye health.

At Especially Children, our mothers are truly special! Our 3-year-old Little Llamas classroom showed just how much they care by going the extra mile with a beautiful Mother’s Day Tea Party! It was the talk of the center — complete with song dedications, special dances with their mothers, and homemade mug gift presentations. ☕💖

It was such a sweet and memorable celebration filled with love, laughter, and appreciation. We love all of our Especially Children mothers and thank you for all that you do each and every day! 💕
