A soul that heals, a heart so kind,
A radiant light, one of a kind.
With grace you lead, with hope you guide,
Touching countless lives far and wide.

May every dream find wings to soar,
May joy and peace be yours much more.
May every sunrise softly say,
β€œThe world is brighter by your way."

May your story bloom in every season,
With joy that knows no end or measure.
May love and laughter fill your days,
And every year bring brighter treasure.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Mary Hughes. 🌸

🧊 Beat the Heat!

If you have MS or are navigating menopause, rising temperatures can make symptoms feel so much worse. The good news? Cooling strategies really work.

Here are our top tips to help you stay cool and feel your best this summer:

βœ… Wear a cooling vest
βœ… Use cold towels on your neck & wrists
βœ… Drink cold water before activity
βœ… Stay indoors during peak heat hours
βœ… Skip the hot tub & sauna

πŸ’œ Your comfort matters. Talk to your neurologist about which cooling strategies are right for you.

Safety is the foundation of every clinical trial and every treatment decision we make.

Before a new therapy reaches patients, it undergoes years of rigorous testing, careful monitoring, and ongoing safety reviews. That commitment to safety doesn’t end when a medication is approvedβ€”it continues in the exam room, where every treatment plan should be tailored to the individual.

At Premier Neurology, our patient-centered approach means listening first, educating patients about risks and benefits, and partnering together to make informed decisions. Whether participating in research or receiving clinical care, our goal remains the same: advancing neurological health while putting patients’ safety, values, and goals at the center of everything we do.

Two Black women working side by side should not be an oddity. It should not spark surprise or require explanation.

Representation mattersβ€”not because it checks a box, but because it expands what people believe is possible. When young girls see women who look like them leading, collaborating, and succeeding, they begin to see those possibilities for themselves.

Visibility creates opportunity. Representation creates belonging. And together, they help build a future where talent, not stereotypes, defines expectations.

For people living with progressive MS, every step forward in research matters.

Clinical trials are helping us better understand progressive MS and bringing us closer to treatments that may slow progression, preserve function, and improve quality of life. Participation in research today helps shape the care of tomorrow

Interested in learning more about clinical trials for progressive MS? Talk with your neurologist or reach out to our office to find out whether a research study may be right for you. Together, we can help advance MS care while exploring opportunities that may benefit future generations living with MS.

Back in the office after an inspiring few days at the Consortium of MS Centers 2026. We’re bringing back new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and meaningful conversations that will help us better support the people we serve every day.

The conference may be over, but the work of turning new insights into better patient care is just beginning. Thank you to everyone who shared their expertise, research, and experiencesβ€”we’re excited to put what we’ve learned into practice.

Just because you have MS doesn’t mean every symptom is caused by MS.

It’s easy to assume that new fatigue, numbness, weakness, dizziness, or pain must be related to multiple sclerosis. But people living with MS can experience the same everyday health issues as anyone elseβ€”thyroid disease, vitamin deficiencies, infections, medication side effects, sleep disorders, migraines, and many other conditions.

One of the most important parts of MS care is avoiding the trap of attributing every new symptom to MS. Sometimes the answer is an MS relapse. Sometimes it’s something entirely differentβ€”and treatable.

If you’re experiencing new or worsening symptoms, don’t assume. Ask questions, get evaluated, and make sure you’re looking at the whole picture.

MS may be part of your story, but it doesn’t explain everything.

Final day at CMSC 2026. Grateful for the connections, conversations, and collaborations that continue to move MS care forward. Emerging biomarkers may help predict treatment response and are shaping the future of personalized MS care.

Wrapping up three incredible days at CMSC 2026.

I’ve learned a lot and can’t wait to bring new insights back to our patientsβ€”from emerging biomarkers and personalized treatment strategies to discussions on wellness, family planning, and quality of life for people living with MS.

One quote that will stay with me:

β€œIt’s politically inconvenient to have MS.”

A powerful reminder that while science continues to advance, our patients still face challenges navigating healthcare systems, insurance barriers, and access to care. Our role as advocates remains just as important as our role as clinicians.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and return home energized with new ideas to better serve our MS community.

Before we dive into our highlights from the first two days of the Consortium of MS Centers Annual Meeting, we’re excited to welcome our newest team member, Joaline Diez, PA-C, to the practice! πŸŽ‰

The meeting has been filled with inspiring conversations and emerging research focused on improving the lives of people living with multiple sclerosis.

Some key topics that have stood out so far:
✨ Family planning and MSβ€”helping patients navigate important life decisions with confidence.
✨ The potential role of GLP-1 medications and their impact on neurological health.
✨ Emerging biomarkers that may help us better monitor response to therapy and even predict disease prognosis.

The future of MS care is moving toward more personalized treatment strategies, allowing us to tailor therapies to each individual’s unique disease journey. It’s an exciting time in MS research, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring these insights back to our patients.

Stay tuned for more updates from the meeting!
