Hormones are working behind the scenes every single day—and they affect a whole lot more than your period.
Energy. Sleep. Mood. Metabolism. Appetite. Stress. Digestion. Body temperature. Libido. Mental clarity. Even how resilient you feel from one day to the next can be influenced by the complex communication happening between your hormones and the rest of your body.
And that’s one reason I love looking at the BIGGER PICTURE.
Looking at Hormones with AO Scanning
The AO scans I use with clients include a hormone panel that gives us another wellness lens for looking at hormone-related patterns.
But I don’t look at that panel by itself.
We can compare what it shows with patterns across other areas—such as the thyroid, adrenals, liver, digestive system, nervous system, blood sugar regulation, and more. We can also compare scans over time to see which patterns change as we build foundational support.
That’s where it gets interesting.
Instead of focusing only on one hormone or one symptom, we can start asking:
What else is happening in the body that may be connected to how you’re feeling?
Then we combine that information with your symptoms, health history, menstrual cycle, sleep, stress, nutrition, digestion, lifestyle, and what YOU are actually experiencing.
Want traditional hormone testing too?
I can also order DUTCH hormone testing when appropriate or when a client would like laboratory testing.
Depending on the DUTCH test selected, it can provide information about reproductive hormones and their metabolites, cortisol patterns, and other hormone-related markers. Cycle-mapping options can also provide a more detailed look at hormone fluctuations throughout a cycling woman’s menstrual cycle.
It’s another tool available to us—not the only tool.
My goal is to help you look beyond a single number or symptom and begin connecting the dots between your hormones and the rest of your body.
Because hormones don’t operate alone—and supporting hormone health often means looking at much more than hormones.
If you've been wondering whether hormones could be playing a part in how you're feeling, let's take a closer look.
Schedule an Initial Wellness Assessment, and we'll look at your hormone patterns along with the other body systems that may be contributing to what you're experiencing. From there, we can decide together whether additional hormone testing, such as DUTCH, would be useful for you.
