Ja'Keen Richardson passed away on March 15, 2026,
after a courageous battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. Born on February 28, 1991, in
Fayetteville, Ja’Keen lived a life defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.
Ja’Keen grew up surrounded by a large and loving family that shaped the man he would
become. Known for his infectious smile and laughter, his sharp sense of humor, and his
remarkable kindness, he had a rare ability to light up any room he entered. Those who
knew him understood that beneath his warmth and wit lay a deep well of strength and
reliability. He was the person others turned to in times of need, a confidant who could be
trusted without question, and a source of steady support for family and friends alike.
Among the greatest joys of Ja’Keen’s life was his marriage to Ronisha Bowman
Richardson, a partnership built on love and devotion. Together they raised three beautiful children, Alannah Bowman Richardson, Jakhai Richardson, and Raelynn Richardson, who were the center of his world. Fatherhood was not simply a role for Ja’Keen; it was his deepest passion and calling. He poured himself into his children's lives with purpose and tenderness, determined to guide them with the same values he held dear.
Ja’Keen was an avid sports enthusiast with a particular love for Major League Baseball,
which ranked as his number one passion. He was a true outdoorsman who found peace
and joy in nature. These interests extended beyond his personal life and into his
community, where he served as a hospitable neighbor and co-worker. Ja’Keen spent most of his time teaching his children not only athletic skills but essential life lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where his presence and service touched many lives.
Ja’Keen was preceded in death by his mother, Sheila Farlow; his grandparents, John and
Linda McCauley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Ronisha Bowman Richardson;
his children, Alannah, Jakhai, and Raelynn; his father, Antonio Richardson; his sisters,
Antonia Farris and Egyptian Farris; his uncles, Ike (Sharon) Farlow, Ricky Richardson, and
Larry Richardson; his aunts, Shelby (Joe) Smoot, Jaqueline McIver, Veverly Joanne Stokes (Ronald), Vicky Richardson, and Brenda Richardson; his nieces, Cherish Marshall and London Farris; his nephews, Juelz Honesty and Semaj Phillips; his cousins, including OG Linda Lee 8; Ronald, Caprisha, Cheressa, Tamika, Tarika, Ronnie, and Jolinda. Carenzo Richardson, Uganda Richardson, and Shirley Richardson-Tran (Gregory); his dear mother in law Savita Bowman; and a host of extended family members and friends who loved him deeply. May Ja’Keen now rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, free from pain and suffering, his spirit carried home by the same grace that sustained him throughout his journey. As a family, we thank you for your continued support and prayers during such a devastatingly difficult time.
