The Georgia Department of Community Health just finished distributing the state's first round of GREAT Health awards, funding projects from obstetric emergency carts in rural EDs to new telehealth access points across the state.

Perinatal safety is one of the program's named initiatives, and for the 70 Georgia counties with no birthing facility and no OB clinician, that funding could become real-time access to high-risk pregnancy care.

Indiana hospital leaders now have $120 million in RHT funding to put to work, with four more years of RHTP funding still to come.

Governor Mike Braun and the Indiana Department of Health just announced the first round of GROW, the state's Rural Health Transformation Program regional grants, awarding funding to eight regional coalitions across the state.

Technology innovation is one of the program's core goals, and for the 24 Indiana counties with no birthing facility and no OB clinician, that funding could become real-time access to high-risk pregnancy care. Twenty-five years ago, nearly 3,000 lives were lost on September 11, 2001, lives that reshaped families, workplaces, and communities across the country.

Among them were 11 expectant mothers, women building families and looking toward the future, whose unborn children are honored by name at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Their loss is a reminder that the attacks took not only the lives present that day, but generations that would never be.

Today we remember every person, every family, and every community forever changed by that day.

We will never forget.

Arkansas hospital leaders now have $149.3 million in RHT funding to put to work, with two more funding initiatives still to be announced.
