Robin is survived by her children, Rachael (Shawn) Milne, Ronni Jo Howell, Angela Gann and Steven Gann; grandchildren Chloe and Kaia; siblings, Sharon Brown and Dennis Slopak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Gann, and by her parents, Israel and Edith Slopak. Her love for her children and her devotion to those closest to her were evident in all she did. She will be remembered for the many ways she enriched the lives of others. Robin’s kindness was not reserved for special occasions but was part of her everyday nature. Her friendliness made her approachable; her creativity gave color to her life and those she interacted with. Darlene was preceded in death by her sisters, Tina Lucart and Judy Hurt, as well as her father, Carmen Lecato, and her mother, Darlene Lecato. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried the love of her family with her always. The bonds she shared with those who went before her were an important part of the story of her life, and she honored them through the way she lived with strength and devotion.

A retired personal banker, Darlene was respected for her professionalism, reliability, and kind manner. He answered the call to serve with honor and dedication, and his years in uniform stood as a testament to his strength of character and his willingness to protect others. Those who knew him understood that his humility matched his bravery, and he never sought recognition for his sacrifices.

He worked as a Machine Operator at Allied Signal and Borsh, where he was respected for his reliability and skill. He approached his work with the same steady determination that guided him throughout his life. Whether in the Army or on the job, James could always be counted on to do what was needed and to do it well.

James found great joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved fishing, and time spent by the water brought him peace and happiness. He especially cherished playing with his grandkids, and those moments were among the most treasured of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Earl Sams Sr.; his brother, Earl H. Sams, Jr.; his sister, Carolyn F. Sams Baker; and his brother, Rodger T. Sams. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried their influence with him always.

James is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Sams; his sons, Rob and wife Jess MeMao, and Jason Sams; his grandchildren, Channing and Kelsey Sams, Brandon Sams, and Dominic DeMao; his great-grandchildren, Kasem and Addison Sams; and his sisters, Sherry D. Frogue and Kathy E. Emberton. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever remember his laughter, his strength, and the kindness he showed so freely.

Those who knew James will remember a man who was funny in a way that lifted spirits, courageous in the face of life’s challenges, and gentle in the way he treated others. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and his love for his family was evident in all he did. Mary was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Thomas E. Lane, whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life. The bonds of family were deeply important to her, and she treasured the many connections that shaped her journey.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Lane, her son, Thomas Lane, as well as her daughter-in-law, Tammy Lane, whom she loved as a daughter. She was a proud Grandmother to Thomas “Jadon” Lane and Joshua Kirkland (Abbey). She also delighted in her great-grandchildren, Keagen and Emery Kirkland, who brought joy and light to her later years. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and she found happiness in their accomplishments, their laughter, and the time they shared.

Mary had many interests that reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Racketball was another interest that brought energy and enjoyment to her life. At home, she shared a special bond with her cat, Daphnie, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. She also held a special affection for her “Partner in Crime Jadon,” a title that spoke to the playful and loving connection she cherished with her Grandson.

Those who knew Mary will remember her as a loving woman whose generosity extended freely to others. She offered wisdom not only through her words, but through the example she set each day. Suzanne Waring McCrary

Suzanne Waring McCrary, age 54, passed away on June 20, 2026. She graduated from Wando High School and then Charleston Cosmetology Institute and built a career as a gifted Master Stylist and Master Colorist. She loved boat rides on Shem Creek and all around Charleston, swimming in the pool, cherishing time with her girls, anything connected to the Shem Creek shrimpers, being out in nature, and watching the sunset. She had a special love for Reuben sandwiches and was always talking about how she needed one. Though her life included many challenges, Suzanne demonstrated remarkable strength and determination. She was especially proud of maintaining sobriety during the final 1.5 years of her life, a testament to her courage and commitment to personal growth with the help of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Suzanne found strength, purpose, and community through Alcoholics Anonymous and the people who walked that road with her. Her recovery family meant the world to her, and helping others find their own place in recovery became one of her life's callings. Her family wants it remembered that Suzanne picked up her AA Infinity Chip as she gained her wings.

Born on January 7, 1972, Suzanne was the cherished daughter of the late Jean Clark Howe Archer. She is also survived by her fathers, Mark Archer and Philip Dunning Sr. She was also deeply blessed by the friendship and mentorship of the late Rosemary McMenamin, whose guidance and unwavering support meant so much to her throughout her life.

Suzanne’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Ashley Starkey of Summerville, SC, and Rachel Rich of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her brothers, Philip Carl Dunning Jr., Lee Archer of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Benjamin Archer of Charleston, SC, along with Philip's children, Lucas Grey Dunning, Anderson Clark Dunning, and Madison Dunning Deckard, and her best friend of 17 years, Percy Johnson Smith, and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

Those who knew Suzanne will remember her for her loving heart, her resilience, and her devotion to the people she cared about most. Her journey was not always easy, but she faced life's obstacles with perseverance. She leaves behind a legacy of hope, strength, and love.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Medical ICU staff of Prisma Greer Memorial Hospital and to Pastor Ned Smith of Seacoast Church, McClellanville Campus, for their care, compassion, and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club, 201 Palm Boulevard, Isle of Palms, South Carolina 29451. In honoring Suzanne’s vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to those around her, the family asks that attendees wear bright, colorful clothing to her Celebration of Life. Suzanne would not have wanted a traditional somber gathering; instead, she would have wanted family and friends to come together to share memories, laughter, and love. Guests are encouraged to leave black attire at home and wear colors that reflect the warmth, energy, and individuality that Suzanne carried throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family's expenses through the GoFundMe page or through Percy Smith, or to the recovery organizations that helped Suzanne find and maintain sobriety: Potter House Recovery in Florence, South Carolina, and Just For Today Women's Sober Living in Greenville, South Carolina, so that someone else may have the same chance at recovery through a scholarship as Suzanne did.

Suzanne’s memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
