When the Sirens Stop: Remembering the People Who Ran Toward the Fire

Every September, we remember where we were when the planes hit the towers, when the buildings fell, and when our world changed forever. We remember the photographs. We remember the names. We...

Join us live for a conversation about connection, desire, and building a more fulfilling relationship. 👇

We’ll get into why emotional safety matters, why safety alone isn’t enough to spark desire, how couples lose (and rediscover) aliveness in their relationship, and how caregiving is the bridge between love and intimacy.

📅 Thursday, September 17

🕕 6:00 PM ET

📍 Live on Instagram

Bring your questions, we want this to be a real conversation.

Real conversations. Deeper connection. A more fulfilling love.

👉 Set your reminder now so you don’t miss it.

A meeting of the board of International Center for Excellence in EFT 👇

We’re honored to continue the brilliant, foundational work of Dr. Sue Johnson. Today, EFT trainings reach roughly 80 countries around the world, in multiple languages, because attachment doesn’t have a border.

After more than 40 years of development, the research is clear: emotionally focused couple therapy remains the gold standard for working with relationship distress, and its theory continues to shape how we work with couples, individuals, and families alike.

This is more than training. It’s a mission, to help make the world a more securely attached place, one relationship at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of building this. And Hannah, we miss you. 💙

Here we are at the beast, and this beast does not stand alone. 🌳

Look at how big and isolated it seems on its own. But go underneath, and it’s connected to everything else around it through the root system. It carries, and it is carried.

Think about the people who stand tall in your life. Chances are, what makes them look so steady isn’t something they built alone, it’s the roots underneath, the people holding them up that you may never see.

Hug a beast today. Or better yet, hug the person who’s quietly been your root system.

Let’s talk about the best motivation for therapy. 👇

I’m George Faller, Marriage and Family Therapist. So many people walk into therapy trying to do the right thing, for their partner, out of obligation, out of duty. The problem is, that motivation runs out fast. 💨

What actually works is tapping into your own longing, the part of you that wants something better for yourself. It’s the same energy behind going to the gym, going to church, or wanting real intimacy. When you’re chasing something you genuinely want, the work sustains itself.

If you’re only doing it for someone else, it becomes a chore. You can white-knuckle it for a while, but your body will start resisting more and more over time. ⏱️

Tap into that chasing energy instead, and you’ll notice something shift. Your body stops just tolerating the work. It starts looking forward to it.

If you’re the one pushing for connection in your relationship 💬, for conversations, for touch, for closeness, that pull is driven by two things.

One is longing. You want to come closer. That’s beautiful. 💙

The other is anxiety, often shaped by a history of feeling rejected, that quietly tries to get your partner to change. 😬

The difference shows up in how you ask. “Are you in the mood to be intimate tonight?” puts the focus on your partner. “I’m really in the mood today” comes from you, from your own longing. That’s where the mojo actually lives.

Notice which place you’re coming from. Longing, or fear of rejection. The more you can speak from self instead of trying to change your partner, the better your odds.

Which one do you lead with, longing or fear? Drop it in the comments. 👇
