POTS is a form of dysautonomia, meaning the autonomic nervous system has difficulty regulating functions like heart rate, blood pressure, circulation, and stress responses.

Massage therapy can help support the nervous system by encouraging parasympathetic activity which is also known as the “rest and regulate” state the body often struggles to access with POTS.

Massage is not a cure for POTS although sometimes I wish it was. It can sometimes be the closest to feeling normal and back in your body though.
Many people living with dysautonomia, it can become a powerful tool for nervous system regulation, body awareness, and restorative healing. I know it definitely is for me.

I work with a wide range of conditions from autoimmune symptoms to all stages of Oncology because I truly believe massage is for everyone in some shape or form. 🖤

But we DO CARE about how you FEEL. That is quite literally ✨our job✨
Sometimes feelings of being anxious or ashamed of something can show in the smallest ways. Clients- you should always feel safe on the table- period. But to therapists- someone who struggles with touch, something as small as unshaven legs can really affect the way they feel during touch. Attentive to detail is everything in the treatment room. 🖤
