When a man’s brain is depleted, his whole family becomes a nervous system that manages his
mood. The kids learn to read his face before they ask a question. Eventually they stop asking. They ask
mom now, even when he’s home.

His wife stops sharing the small things. Not because she stopped loving him. Because bringing
him something small started costing more than the reward of his response.

The whole house begins operating on his worst day, not his best.

That isn’t a family problem. It’s a family absorbing one person’s dysregulation.

Fix his brain, and the family’s regulation comes back too.

It’s brain health, not mental health.

Live now: The 60% Business.
Your company is running at 60% and you are the reason. Not because you got lazy you
didn’t. Here’s what’s actually happening.

Six things a business quietly loses when the founder runs depleted. What the calendar, the
bench, and the house all tell you long before the P&L catches up. And what comes back when
the brain repairs.

If you’ve caught yourself quietly Googling “why is my husband so angry” you’re not the only one, and you’re not overreacting.

There’s a specific reason his suffering is showing up as anger. It’s happening in three parts of his brain the parts that run patience, filter threats, and let him feel joy.
None of it is who he actually is.

It’s a brain that’s running on empty. Not a character flaw. Not a marriage problem.
He’s still in there. His brain just needs help.

When 35 tabs are open in your head and you can't close any of them that's a specific state.

Most people describe it as 'my brain never shuts off' or 'I'm just really busy right now' or 'I'll rest when this project ends.'

What we know clinically: when the executive function part of your brain the prefrontal cortex has been running at maximum capacity for too long, its ability to filter, prioritize, and quiet itself actually decreases. The brain becomes worse at closing tabs the more tabs it has to manage.

That's not a productivity problem. That's structural fatigue. And it responds to structural repair.

The Problem Might Not Be Your Medication. It Might Be Your Brain.

Sunday dread on Saturday afternoon that's a pattern.

Most of us describe it as 'not being a Monday person' or 'having too much on my plate' or 'just this rough season.'

What it usually is: your nervous system has learned that Sunday means Monday. Monday means the week ahead. And the brain starts preparing for Monday's load hours in advance.

That pattern is teachable and unlearnable. Neuroplasticity does that work.

Wednesday's video on Dr. Dee's YouTube walks through what actually shifts the pattern.

Actual rest is different from time off.

Time off is when the work stops. Actual rest is when the nervous system finally comes down.

Most high performers I know can take time off leave work, cancel meetings, close the laptop while their nervous system stays on high alert the whole time.

Real rest is the moment your shoulders drop for a full afternoon. Your heart rate settles below 70. You laugh without watching the clock. That's the nervous system coming down. That's brain health work.

If that hasn't happened this weekend give yourself permission for one hour of it today.

Why Chronic Stress Makes Everything Harder

08/07/2026

When your best friend asks how you're doing and you say 'fine' and both of you know you're not that pattern is data.

Most people describe the 'fine' habit for years before naming it. They tell themselves the alternative actually describing what they feel is too complicated. Or too vulnerable. Or the other person won't understand.

What we know clinically: after enough years of chronic stress, the brain's capacity for emotional granularity actually reduces. The circuit that helps you name what you feel gets worn down along with everything else.

So 'fine' isn't laziness. It's the brain doing less because it has less to give.

Structural repair restores that capacity.
