We are a husband and wife team helping clients create beautiful kitchens and baths. The two main characters were “Bob” the Tomato and “Larry” the Cucumber.

We bring curated samples to you alleviating the need to drive all over town to choose cabinets, hardware, countertops, flooring, closet systems, and outdoor cabinetry. When our son was three years old, he used to watch an animated cartoon series called “Veggie Tales”. He would say “Larry” was a Koombobber. Finally, we asked him, “You mean Larry is a cucumber?" He responded, “Yes, he is a Koombobb

er”. I told my wife, “We are going to take liberty of spelling Koombobber and use it someday!"

Koombobber has recently opened up a woodshop (Wood Designs). We are building custom hand made vanities and cabinets (we have come up with a couple new designs that our clients love- see pictures on our site). We are also building what we call KoomBoxes. There are moments in life that divide everything into “before” and “after.”

In 2024, John suffered a devastating heart attack and Cardiogenic Shock.

He died in the car on the way to the hospital. There is no softer way to say that. His heart stopped. He was gone.

However, through the hands of first responders and medical teams, the Lord brought him back. Doctors told us they did not expect him to make it through the night. We were preparing for the worst.

But God had other plans.

Today, John is here. Walking. Smiling. Living. A walking miracle.

We know without question that the Lord spared his life. That kind of miracle changes you. When you are given a second chance like that, you don’t go back to “normal.” You reevaluate everything — your pace, your stress, your priorities, your purpose.

Running a full general contracting business — crews, job sites, deadlines, constant pressure — was no longer something we wanted to pursue. Not after almost losing him.

So we made a hard decision and we closed our shop. We stepped away from full-scale contracting.

Koombobber is still here — just reimagined.

We have transitioned to a private mobile showroom model, focusing on cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, closet systems, outdoor cabinetry and cabinet hardware. We now bring curated materials directly to our clients.

This season has humbled us. It has deepened our faith. It has reminded us that our business was never the foundation — Christ is.

If you prayed for us, supported us, or carried us through 2024, we will never forget it. We are here because of God’s mercy.
