Calling all book lovers! We’re excited to welcome Buxton Manning, comedic author of several novels, including Heavy Rotation, Gone Geezers and Keeler Creek Days! The pen name of Mike Exinger, Buxton loves writing quirky, funny and sometimes-weird novels in a variety of genres – from wacky slice of life to cozy mystery – as he enjoys retirement from his previous career as a serious freelancer of essays and articles.

Our residents enjoyed a delicious hibachi-inspired dinner filled with great food, laughter, and wonderful company. From savory flavors to shared conversations around the table, it was an evening everyone enjoyed.

Moments like these remind us that meals are about more than just food - they're about creating memories and bringing people together. ❤️

Today, our assisted living residents put their baking skills to work and made a delicious Oreo mug cake! 🍰

With just a few simple ingredients and a little creativity, they whipped up a sweet treat that was as fun to make as it was to eat. Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage independence, spark memories, and bring smiles to everyone involved.

Great job to our talented baker! We think this Oreo mug cake deserves five stars! ✨

We were honored to welcome and host the 2026 Rose Festival Princesses at our community! 🌹👑

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful visit, meeting these inspiring young women, sharing stories, laughter, and special moments together. The Princesses brought warmth, grace, and excitement to everyone they met, making the day truly memorable.

Thank you to the 2026 Rose Festival Princesses for spending time with us and brightening our residents' day. We loved celebrating this cherished Portland tradition and creating meaningful connections across generations.

Our very own Programming Directors at Senior Lifestyle, Alana K. at Clover Health Care and Kirk B. from Addington Place of Jupiter were featured in the blog “Therapeutic Programming: Cultivating Connection, Purpose & Well-Being,” where they shared insights on how meaningful engagement supports connection, purpose, and overall well-being for residents. Kirk shared, “In my role, I think often about how each day unfolds for residents.

What are they looking forward to? Where are the opportunities to connect, contribute, and stay engaged? The answer isn’t a single program, but the full experience of a thoughtfully designed day.”

The blog also highlights the impact of pet therapy in our communities. Alana shared, “When we see a resident petting an animal, we see them become instantly calm. They stay in the moment, and the rest of the world seems not to matter.” She also noted that residents who are typically quiet and reserved often come out specifically for these visits.
