🤟 Gestures today. Words tomorrow. Connection always.

Many parents worry that teaching sign language will delay talking, but research shows the opposite. Simple signs give children a way to communicate while spoken language is developing, reducing frustration and creating more opportunities for meaningful interaction.

Start with just a few everyday signs like “eat, more, please, thank you, and all done.” Use them consistently while saying the word out loud. Every gesture becomes another opportunity to build communication.

Remember, signs don’t replace speech—they support speech by helping children connect words with meaning and experience.

Every child deserves to be heard. Every small gesture matters. đź’™

Parents often ask us what they can do at home to support their toddler’s communication between therapy sessions. The good news is that some of the most meaningful opportunities don’t require special toys or complicated activities. They happen during everyday routines like reading together, playing on the floor, mealtime, bath time, and getting ready for bed.

That’s why “The Toddler Transition” was created—to provide parents and caregivers with practical, evidence-based strategies they can confidently use at home to encourage communication and language development.

From July 24th through July 31st, the Kindle edition will be available as part of Amazon’s Kindle Countdown Deal. If you’ve been thinking about adding it to your parenting toolbox or know someone who may benefit from it, this is a great time to pick up a copy.

As always, thank you for trusting Bright Strides to be part of your family’s journey.

♥️🤍💙 Wishing everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July weekend! 🎉

Whether you're watching fireworks, enjoying a backyard cookout, or spending time with loved ones, don't underestimate the power of conversation.

Every question, every story, and every shared laugh helps build your child's communication skills.

The best conversations don't happen only in therapy—they happen in the everyday moments you share together.

Stay safe, have fun, make wonderful memories. 🇺🇸
