No mistakes here, just happy little accidents. Residents gathered for a Paint and Sip event and let the one and only Bob Ross guide their brushes to artistic greatness. Letting Bob's iconic voice gently remind us that in our own worlds we can do whatever makes us happy and that every tree could use a friend fit the relaxed vibe perfectly.

We appreciate the members of The Water's Edge church who participated in their WE Serve initiative and joined our MacKinnon community to work on crafts and visit with residents. Maintaining social connections and working on creative group projects are important pieces of our approach to memory care.

When artist Grant Wood debuted his painting, American Gothic, in 1930 at the Art Institute of Chicago, it won the third-place bronze medal and a $300 prize. From there, the iconic painting drew both praise and criticism for years to come. This famous artwork was the focus of our recent Paint and Sip. Our MacKinnon Memory Care community enjoyed the opportunity to chat and spend time together.

At the end of July we welcomed prospective residents for an exclusive four-course Chef's Tasting and the reviews are in. Five stars across the board!

Guided by our talented new Chef Cosmos, whose extensive culinary background includes a specialty in serving older adults, guests sampled a carefully crafted menu featuring deviled eggs, beet root ravioli salad, roasted chicken with purple mashed potatoes and asparagus and a strawberry cake mousse for dessert.

Resident ambassadors joined in to help rate each course and share what makes dining at the Highlands so special.

The 66th annual Gretna Days Parade was an amazing opportunity to show support for our wonderful community. Hillcrest Highlands has been here in Gretna for just over 2 years and we are so thankful to call Gretna home.
