I came across these pictures at my mom’s house last week. I was only about 1–3 months old in them, and today I turned 58.
And whew… that baby girl had no idea. 😂
No idea about the people I would love, the people I would lose, the places I would go, the mistakes I would make, the lessons I would learn, or the number of times life would make me stop and think about what really matters.
I’ve had some wonderful years, some hard years, and more than a few moments when life could have gone very differently. I survived them all, and being here at 58 is something I don’t take for granted.
At 58, I’ve learned that taking care of myself is about the whole picture. My peace. My joy. My relationships. My rest. My faith. My laughter. Giving myself grace, protecting my energy, and realizing that everything does not deserve a reaction.
I’m still learning. Still growing. Still changing. Still trying new things. Still laughing. Still asking questions. Still figuring some things out. And I’m okay with that.
I don’t need to have everything figured out. I just want to keep living, loving, learning, growing, enjoying the people I love, taking care of myself, and being open to whatever this next chapter brings.
So today, I’m grateful.
Grateful for the beautiful parts, the difficult parts, the lessons, the detours, the second chances, and all the little moments in between that made me who I am.
And looking at these pictures now, all I can say is…
Girl, you had NO idea. 😂❤️
But you made it.
Happy 58th Birthday to me. 🎂❤️
