✨ Teacher Spotlight on one of our most fearless teachers, Andrea Koueiter! detroit_handstands
🎤 What can students expect in your classes.
“I design my classes to be challenging, but accessible. I often hear people say that they’re afraid of Vinyasa 3 - don’t be! I always offer different options and modifications, so that everyone finds the right level of challenge for them that day. I want students to practice intelligently and know how they can work up to learning new skills, if that is their goal.”
🎤Tips for beginners?
“Never feel like you have to be “good enough” to start. Start where you are. Show up consistently and have an open mind. Also, don’t be afraid to set big goals and actually work towards them.”
🎤 Something students would be surprised to learn about you:
“Probably not a surprise to many, but I work as a physical therapist. I work in the ICU at Henry Ford Detroit, mostly with surgical and trauma patients. I believe that movement is essential for quality of life and love that I get to teach it at such different levels - from helping people learn how to get out of bed or walk again, to learning handstands and arm balances. It’s a fun mix!”
🎤 Do you have any hobbies outside of yoga?
“I love hobbies :) I sing in a choir, train crossfit and calisthenics, and love camping and hiking! (I would love to hear about your favorite camping backpacking spots!)”
