Our first lemonade stand was such a fun day. Our friends loved meeting everyone who stopped by, serving up delicious homemade treats and sharing lots of smiles. We're excited to do it all again one last time this summer!

Week 7 flew by! It was definitely one to remember! 💙☀️

We kicked off the week with a beautiful day at Warren Gateway Park. On Tuesday, we went to Eastern Market and then cooled off with an afternoon of swimming, then spent Wednesday morning preparing delicious homemade food for our Gala before music class (the food was made with fruits/veggies that were picked out at eastern market as well as veggies from our very own garden!). Thursday was all about putting the finishing touches on a very special celebration honoring our amazing Miss Becca! 💙

We wrapped up the week with Reading & Rhythm on the Riverfront, where everyone enjoyed the music, stories and picked out a brand-new book to take home!

And today, we kept the fun going with a trip to Kensington Metropark Farm Center! We met lots of friendly animals, explored the playground, and enjoyed a relaxing boat ride 🚜🐐🚤

Another week full of laughter, new experiences and unforgettable memories. We can't believe it is already Week 8! ✨

Where It All Began. The Early Days of Miss Becca at The Arc
In addition to the video, we also shared a photo slideshow yesterday at the gala of Miss Becca's early days at The Arc. These photos take us back to where it all started in 2016, even before she officially joined our staff, but already making The Arc a brighter place all the way through today ❤

Yesterday, we celebrated someone who has left an incredible mark on The Arc at our 2026 summer Gala: The Roast & Toast of Miss Becca

After eight summers, Miss Becca officially wrapped up her final day with us today as she begins the next chapter of her journey as a nurse 💙

Miss Becca first started volunteering at The Arc in 2016 before officially joining our staff in 2021. Over the past eight summers, she has poured her heart into this place, spending what amounts to nearly a full year's worth of summer days making a difference in the lives of our participants. From field trips and swimming to songs, games, hugs, Band-Aids and countless unforgettable moments, she has been a leader, a mentor, a friend and a constant source of kindness and support

Thank you, Miss Becca, for every hand you've held, every smile you've brought, every challenge you've tackled and every life you've touched. You will always be part of The Arc family and we can't wait to see the incredible nurse you'll continue to become ❤️

Happy Birthday to our amazing Executive Director, Lesley! 🎂💙

If you’ve ever spent time at The Arc, there is no doubt that you’ve experienced the impact of Lesley’s dedication. She’s the first to jump in wherever needed. Whether that’s working behind the scenes to keep our programs running, advocating for our amazing kids and families, supporting our staff or spending time laughing and making memories.

Her heart is in every event, every program and every interaction - reminding everyone that they belong. The Arc wouldn’t be the same without her and neither would so many lives she’s touched along the way.

Thank you, Lesley, for giving so much of yourself to this organization and to everyone who walks through our doors. We hope today brings you even a small portion of the joy you bring to others every day 🥳♥️

Week 6 = another week of smiles, sunshine and making memories! ☀️💙

We kicked off the week with a trip to Riverside Park on Monday before turning The Arc into our very own indoor obstacle course on Tuesday morning, followed by an afternoon of swimming

Wednesday, we discovered that several of our bikes had been stolen. But if there’s one thing our participants continue to teach us, it’s resilience. We didn’t let that steal our joy, we still spent time riding bikes before heading to Inclusively Fit for an afternoon of movement and fun!

On Thursday, we soaked up the beautiful summer weather with more bike riding before cooling off at the pool. We wrapped up an INCREDIBLE week today with a visit to STARZ Equestrian Center in White Lake, where everyone enjoyed spending time with the horses and making unforgettable memories.

This week also reminded us just how incredible our community is. Thank you to everyone who has shared our story, reached out with kind words, donated or offered support. Your generosity means the world to our kids and staff.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the kindness and support that has shown after the theft of our bikes. What started as a difficult day has become a powerful reminder of the strength of our community

Four bikes were stolen from The Arc of Grosse Pointe and Harper Woo...

This morning, we discovered that four of our bikes were stolen from The Arc 💔 The bikes taken included:
🚲 Two 26” Meridian trikes
🚲 Two 20” two-wheel bikes

Our kids absolutely love riding bikes. Many of the bikes have been generously donated by individuals and local businesses and we are so grateful for the support our community has shown us over the years

If you have a bike you’d like to donate, or know someone who might be willing to donate one we would be incredibly thankful! Thank you for your kindness, generosity and continued support! 🌞

We also want to give a special thank you to one of our INCREDIBLE Arc dads, who generously volunteered his time to cut back the dense bushes surrounding our bike storage area to help improve visibility and reduce the risk of future theft 🙏
