Babysitter Safety Course

Do you have a tween or teen interested in babysitting? This course is designed to help students gain the confidence and skills needed to safely care for younger children.

Today I had the opportunity to teach a 1-hour CPR and Emergency Response Awareness Class for three young men preparing for a week-long backpacking trip in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. 🏕️

During our class, we reviewed:

❤️ CPR basics
🩹 Common first aid emergencies
🫁 Choking response
🚑 When to seek emergency help
🧠 Remaining calm under pressure
🌲 Wilderness and hiking-related emergencies, including dehydration, hypothermia, heat illness, tick bites, and injuries on the trail

While we all hope these skills are never needed, being prepared can make a huge difference when you’re miles away from help.

Wishing these young men a safe, fun, and memorable adventure in the UP! Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your preparation.
