Nothing to see here folks 👀

The classic 5-minute doctor visit usually goes something like this:
quick symptom check, maybe a prescription, and barely enough time to explain what’s actually been going on.

The problem? Most health issues don’t happen in isolation — and they definitely don’t get solved by only looking at one symptom for five minutes.

Actually understanding why someone feels the way they do means looking at the bigger picture:
sleep, stress, lifestyle, past treatments, environmental factors, hormones, metabolism, family history, nervous system health, genetics, and how all of those pieces interact together.

Root-cause care takes conversation, context, and time.

A lot of women think losing their libido is “just part of getting older.”

But sometimes… it’s also the medications no one warned them about.

In this episode of Stop Feeling Like S**t, we talk about two of the biggest libido disruptors we see in women:
– SSRIs
– hormonal birth control

Because when hormones shift, it doesn’t just affect desire.

It can impact:
– arousal
– sensitivity
– lubrication
– tissue function
– and overall sexual response

And for many women, they’ve spent years assuming the disconnect they feel is “normal.”

This conversation isn’t about telling women what to do.
It’s about giving women information they were never given in the first place.

Because sexual health is still health.

Tiffany’s wellness tool this year?
Adjusting her supplement routine to support better sleep 😴

Sleep affects everything — energy, recovery, stress levels, hormones, focus, mood, and overall wellbeing. Sometimes small, intentional changes can make a bigger difference than people realize.

Getting better sleep isn’t always about “trying harder” to rest. Sometimes it’s about giving your body the support it’s actually been asking for.

Sitting on the edge of your seat all day can actually be a subtle sign that your body is stuck in “go mode.”

When the nervous system perceives ongoing stress, the body naturally shifts into a more guarded, alert posture — leaning forward, staying tense, and preparing to react rather than fully relax. Over time, this constant state of bracing can contribute to tight hips, neck and shoulder tension, shallow breathing, fatigue, and feeling like you can never fully unwind.

POV: you waited 3 months for the appointment just to get 4 minutes and a “have you tried drinking more water?”

We know healthcare can feel rushed sometimes. That’s why at Buckeye, we believe patients deserve time to ask questions, explain what’s actually going on, and feel like a human being instead of a number on a schedule.

Crazy concept, we know.

One of the biggest things impacting women’s libido that almost nobody talks about?

Birth control.

In this episode of Stop Feeling Like S**t, we unpack how hormonal birth control can affect more than just pregnancy prevention—including testosterone levels, sexual desire, and even tissue function over time.

Because for a lot of women, the conversation around birth control starts and stops at:
“Are you preventing pregnancy?”

But very few people are asking:
– How do you actually feel on it?
– Has your libido changed?
– Do you feel less connected to your body?
– Has intimacy become harder, uncomfortable, or less interesting altogether?

This isn’t fear-mongering.
It’s about understanding the full picture of how hormones impact female sexual health.

And for many women, finally connecting those dots can be life-changing.

Ashley’s helpful tool this year?
“Walk it out instead of talk it out.” 🚶‍♀️

Walking can help regulate stress, clear mental clutter, release tension, and give the body a chance to reset.

Turns out there’s a reason you feel better after “just going for a walk.”

In this video, Joe demonstrates diaphragmatic breathing — a technique focused on activating the diaphragm to fully expand the lower lungs, where breathing has a stronger connection to the vagus nerve and the body’s “rest and digest” nervous system.

Special shoutout to Tiffany Berger of here in Grove City for helping educate people on the power of breathwork and nervous system regulation.

A lot of people don’t realize they’re constantly pressing their tongue to the roof of their mouth as a stress response.

Tongue tension can happen alongside jaw clenching, teeth grinding, headaches, facial tightness, and neck pain without you even noticing it throughout the day.
