Berthena (Marie) Marie Small, age 83, of Colcord, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her residence in Colcord, OK with her family by her bedside. She was born on December 4, 1942 in Jay, OK to her parents James Elmer Small and Almo Marie Gunnels-Small.

Marie went to Center Point School in Colcord, OK. She married young and had six children that she raised in the Colcord area, along with raising four of her grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She had worked from being a nurse and hatching eggs and her job at the school before retiring. Marie was a Custodian at Colcord Elementary School, Colcord, OK where she got to be around a lot of children. She becomes granny to a lot of kids. She enjoyed growing her own food, canning everything she could get her hands on, going to the woods, getting mushrooms, sewing and cross stitching. You did not dare tell her we were out of coffee.

Marie had a hard life, but she knew Jesus had her covered. She knew he would provide. She would never forget the power of prayer. If she wanted to go to church and no one could take her, she would drive herself, mind you, she was blind in one eye, and the other eye was almost just as bad. Marie would help anyone make the best Jelly. She spent plenty of nights praying for the ones she loved to be clean of drugs, and she was so proud of the ones that did. She would talk about them, and you guys know who you are. She loved and cared for all of you. Marie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents James Elmer Small and Almo Marie Gunnels-Small; 4 brothers, James E. Small, Alburt Small, Dean Small and David R. Small; 3 daughters, Susie Jones, Juni Williamson and Darlene Richards; 2 sons, Thomas L. Williamson and Michael G. Williamson; and her grandson’s Jamie R. Williamson, Donald Mouse, Sr., and Baby Kynlee.

Marie is survived by one son, Kelvin L. Williamson of Colcord, OK; Granddaughters, Geneva Barnes of Colcord, OK, Misty E. Walker of Siloam Springs, AR, Deanna and Eric Myers of Colcord, OK, Amanda Roberts of Grove, OK, Loue Draper of Oklahoma City, OK and Lisa Draper of Oklahoma City, OK;

Grandsons, Daved Mouse of Colcord, OK, Ronald and Karen Mouse of Sallisaw, OK, Bill Mitchell, Jr. and Rachel Butler of Colcord, OK, Robert and Sara Mitchell of Grove, OK, Kenneth and Brittney Williamson of Grove, OK, David and Amy Williamson of Oklahoma City, OK, Daniel and Rita Williamson of Oklahoma City, OK, Shawn and Amber of Oklahoma City, OK and Timothy Mitchell of Colcord, OK; and numerous great-grandchildren that she dearly loved; host of extended family and friends.

Wanda Jean Davis, age 68, of Jay, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at her residence in Jay, Oklahoma with her family by her bedside. She was born on October 18, 1957 in Claremore, OK to her parents, Willis Fox and Maxine Buzzard Fox.

Wanda attended Jay High School and later she married her husband Jimmy and started a family. Wanda and Jimmy have been blessed with their family and have celebrated their 52 years of marriage together. She was known for her cooking, beading and arts and crafts. She loved to take scenic drives and take a lot of pictures of all the beauty and memories with the ones that drove her. Wanda was a professional homemaker that loved making sure everyone was fed and was taken care of, especially her grandkids and great grandkids that she adored and loved. Wanda will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Willis Fox and Maxine Buzzard-Fox; Sisters, Linda Hawk, Marcella Fox, and Loretta Fox; and her grandson, Kayson Davis.

Katherine (Kathy) Sue Backward, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend left us peacefully on July 6th, 2026, at the age of 70 in the comfort of her home in Jay, OK surrounded by her family friends and loved ones. Born on January 9, 1956, in Claremore OK to Henry and Mary Chunestudey. Kathy’s life was a testament of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion and dedication to her adored family.

Kathy loved the Lord and enjoyed serving Him, she was a member of Sycamore Springs Baptist Church of Jay, OK. In her younger years you could find Kathy playing softball, basketball, volleyball, bowling and she even tried soccer one time. As Kathy got older, she loved spending her time outdoors and was known for trying to find Bigfoot with her sister Alla, but her greatest joy in life was her family. As a devoted mother and cherished grandmother, she took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was known for her quick wit and contagious laughter, there was never a dull moment when she was around, she brought smiles and joy wherever she went. Kathy is going to be missed dearly by her family, church family and friends, her memory is permanently etched into the hearts of all who knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her son Kevin Backward; her husband Sampson Joe Backward; her sister Alice “Alla” Chunestudey; her parents Henry and Mary Chunestudey; her sister Ruth Goins; and her brother Jefferson “Coonie” Chunestudey.

Kathy is survived by her two sons, Norman Roberts and Katie Christopherson of Grove, OK, and Greg Backward of Jay, OK; Three grandchildren, Taylor, Baylee Jo and fiancé Caleb Backwater, and Kyra Jo; Five great-grandchildren Kamreigh, Sterling, Native, Koda Jo, and Journee Mae; her god-children Kristi Dawn Studie and Joel Grass; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Jeanne Clickenbeard-Grass, age 69, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 2, 2026 in Jay, OK. She was born on July 3, 1956 in Noel, MO to Virgil Clinkenbeard and Lucy Mae Inlow.

Jeanne was raised in Oilton, OK. But later made her home in Jay with her parents and siblings. She attended Jay Public Schools, where she met Mitchell Wolfe and had four children together. She was later employed at O’Brians Poultry in Jay, OK for 5 years. There she met her future husband Jimmy Grass and had two children together. They would make their home in Topsy until the passing of her husband. Jeanne loved to play Bingo and Wa-hoo with her friends and residents at Monroe Manor. She always had a smile on her face and would talk to anyone. She made an impact on everybody she met, and we will always be grateful for that. Jeanne will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Jeanne is proceeded in death by her parents, Virgil Clinkenbeard and Lucy Mae Inlow-Clinkenbeard; Her husband Jimmy Grass; Daughter Michelle Johnson and her brother Gary Clinkenbeard.

Wilma Louise Sturges-Kissire, age 78 of Jay, OK passed away at her home on June 26, 2026 at 4:20pm surrounded by her children. Wilma was born on November 22, 1947 to Georgie and Lovie Parker Sturges in Eucha, OK.

Wilma graduated from Jay High School, Jay, OK. She had several occupations that consisted of being an Assistant Manager at the Sonic and Pizza Hut, Simmons as a QA, Convenience Store Clerk, and USPS as a mail carrier before retiring to enjoy what she loved. Wilma loved sewing, traveling to see family and friends, and most of all enjoying all the local casinos for entertainment. She will be missed by her family and friends very deeply.

Wilma is proceeded in death by her grandparents, George Parker and Eula Cannaday-Parker; her parents Georgie Sturges and Lovie Parker-Sturges; and her brother John David Sturges.

Carolyn Rose (Coley) Ferguson, 83, gained her wings on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her residence in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was born November 17, 1942 in Tulsa, OK to Richard and Marie Coley.

In December 1961, she married Ronald Ferguson and moved to California in 1962. She welcomed her daughter Kim in December 1965 and her twin boys Darren and Derek in September 1969. In 1971 a move back to Oklahoma was made with a purchase of the Kenwood Grocery Store, Kenwood, OK. In 1980, the sale of the store took her to Twin Oaks, OK. Shortly thereafter, she started her career at Oaks Mission School, where she left an impression on everyone that knew her. Where she was known for her Coconut Cream Pies and was always ready to help anyone in any way. Carolyn received several certifications and plaques during her career with the school. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her World, and she was to them as well. You could bet on having pink lipstick kisses left behind on you when you saw her. The grand babies loved to sleep on her chest, and of course she loved every minute of it and their time together. Carolyn’s family had great admiration for her sincerity, kindness, smile, love, and most of all being the mom, grandma, and lady she was. As one of her grandkids has said, the world is a little less bright without their GRANDMA ROSIE in it. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Marie Coley; Brother Richard Coley; Son Darren Ferguson; Brother’s-in-Law Everrett Haymore, and Bob Daniels; Her niece Kelly Pruitt and grandson Hayden Shelley.
