Today we celebrate an incredible achievement by our Base Pilot Supervisor, Franklin Wascura, who recently completed 750 safe patient flights. Program Director Kenney Dalton was able to present Franklin with his new set of wings in recognition of this remarkable milestone.

Over the past 8+ years, Franklin has served as a pilot at Air Evac Lifeteam & is an integral part of our AEL 165 family. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to safety have made a lasting impact on our patients, crew members, and community. Franklin's leadership and dependability set the standard for excellence, and we are proud to recognize this accomplishment.

🥁🥁🥁 The AEL 165 Q2 Peer Recognition Award goes to... Pilot Nick Grosze! 🎖️

We are thrilled to celebrate and congratulate Pilot Nick Grosze, who was selected by his peers this quarter in recognition of his outstanding performance, leadership, teamwork, and dedication.

For the past 3.5 years, Nick has been an invaluable part of our team. He consistently goes above and beyond, always showing up ready to help wherever needed. Whether it's flexing his schedule, working overtime to help keep our base in service, assisting with loading and unloading patients and equipment, or finding a safe way to get our crew and patients where they need to go, Nick is always willing to step up.

His commitment & professionalism alongside his quirky demeanor and endless enthusiasm (you should hear his jokes) make a difference every single day, and it's no surprise that his peers chose to recognize him.

International Paramedics Day 2026

At 165 we have a diverse group of paramedics - a group with a wide array of backgrounds - some conventional & some nontraditional. Cristian, Michael, Kenney, Kallise & Jenni. Combined they have thousands of hours in the back of a truck, helicopter, in a rescue rig & fire engine coupled with years of leadership, training & mentorship. Our medics are anything but average & we are proud of each & every one of them and the contributions they bring to our base and our community.

Not only are we proud and grateful for our own, but also each and every paramedic and first responder in our community that serve. Your countless hours, dedication, commitment and compassion you have do not go unnoticed - & we are so thankful for all of you!
