Tick season is here! 🕷️

Don't let a tick bite ruin your summer adventures. Stay safe by using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and checking for ticks after spending time outdoors. If you find a tick attached to your skin, remove it promptly with fine-tipped tweezers, clean the area with soap and water and monitor for symptoms such as a rash, fever, fatigue or body aches.

Most tick bites are harmless, but some can spread illnesses if left untreated. If you're concerned about a tick bite or develop symptoms after being bitten, INTEGRIS Health Urgent Care in Grove and Vinita and INTEGRIS Health Express Care in Miami are here to help. For more information or to make an appointment at one of our three convenient locations, visit https://bit.ly/4sye3hN.

June is National Men's Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the health challenges men face and encouraging them to take proactive steps toward better health. For men living in rural Oklahoma communities, prioritizing preventive care can be especially important, as access to healthcare services and health outcomes often differ from those in urban areas. INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital and INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital are encouraging men of all ages to prioritize their health by scheduling preventive screenings, maintaining healthy habits and staying proactive about their overall well-being.

According to national health data, men are less likely than women to seek preventive healthcare services and are more likely to delay medical care until a condition becomes serious. Rural populations face additional barriers, including longer travel distances to healthcare facilities, limited access to specialty care and higher rates of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.

“Men's Health Month serves as an important reminder that preventive care can make a significant difference in overall health and quality of life,” says Christopher Gray, APRN, with INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Grove. “Regular checkups and screenings help identify health concerns early, when treatment is often most effective.”

Throughout National Men's Health Month, INTEGRIS Health encourages men to make their health a priority, not only for themselves, but for their families, friends and communities. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, call 918-786-9009 or visit https://bit.ly/4aCwaf0.

INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital is proud to recognize Atisha Cunningham, RN, for her heart, initiative and dedication to caring for our community in meaningful ways.

As part of INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital’s continuous improvement campaign, Atisha partnered with women’s services and a group of Grove High School seniors to support moms facing unexpected circumstances, such as those delivering premature babies or those who arrive unprepared for the arrival of their newborn. Through this collaboration, the students selected a senior project focused on collecting essential baby items to help meet these immediate needs.

Thanks to their efforts and Atisha’s leadership and commitment, Grove now has a supply of donated items ready to support mothers and families during what can be an overwhelming and emotional time. This initiative ensures that even in the most unexpected moments, our patients feel supported, cared for and not alone.

This project is a powerful example of how continuous improvement goes beyond processes. It’s about identifying needs, building partnerships and creating solutions that directly impact patient care and experience.

Please join us in thanking Atisha for her outstanding work and for helping bring this meaningful project to life.
