I have made the decision to retire from optical and close Precision Optics.
I was hoping I would be able to take some time off and resolve the issue with my hands, but unfortunately the demand has proven this difficult. The orthopedic surgeon has told me surgery on both hands is required. Each hand will require 3-4 weeks off and due to the amount of scar tissue on my right thumb additional cortisone shots are not an option. Each repair and adjustment I do moving forward is causing additional damage and pain. I tried taking a couple weeks off to see if inflammation and soreness would improve. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so because the demand of people to see me was too great. The longer I put off surgery while working could cause more damage, meaning a more invasive surgery.
My 29 year career and 14 years at Precision Optics has brought me great joy, success and personal fulfillment, but it’s time to move on.
I will be taking a week or so off to organize for liquidation and will reopen in April with unheard of liquidation deals. I’m not yet sure of my exact timeline, it will depend on the interest in my location and if the new occupant wants to get in and open before the tourist season kicks off.
If you or someone you know is interested in my space, feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to assist getting you in touch with the owner.
I’m going to take some time off to focus on growing The Leroy Collection, visit friends and family, meet my grandson and recharge.
I will always cherish the relationships and friendships made over the last 14 years and hope I’m leaving the business community a little better than I found it. I’m forever grateful for the huge community support and loyalty of my clients. I’ll still be around and present at MotherLode Made, so make sure and come by and say hi 😎🤓
