Ernest Ray Cain, 89, of Guin, AL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 23, 2026, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin. He was born on December 7, 1936, in the Henson Springs Community to Oscar Pinkney Cain and Sarah Elizabeth Cain.

Ray is survived by his son, Phillip (Stephanie) Cain of Hamilton; daughter, Tina (Maurice) Galloway of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Griffin of Covington, LA, Jordan (Maeleigh) Cantrell of Covington, LA, Logan (Jamie) Cain of Henderson, TN, and Jessica Galloway of Gonzales, LA; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler Cain, Abbie Cain, and Mack Griffin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Cain; his parents; his brothers, John D. Cain and Pete Cain; his sisters, Beatrice Cain, Christenia Cain, Betty Revere, and Erleen Pugh.

Ray was a graduate of Marion County High School Class of 1955. He retired from 3M Company in Guin, AL, after 42 years of dedicated service. Ray was a devoted husband of 68 years, a hands on father, and a man whose quiet strength shaped every part of his life. In addition to his time at 3M, he served faithfully as a deacon at Guin First Baptist Church for more than four decades. Ray was known for his wisdom, humor, and gentle way of leading by example. Judy Caroline Bales, age 80, of Haleyville entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Judy was a faithful servant of God and was a lifelong member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Phil Campbell, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her daughter- Shae Bales; parents- Thelbert and Bonnie Marbutt; brother- Robert Marbutt.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years- Clarence “Buddy” Bales; daughter- Tammy Barnhill and husband Bill; son- Greg Bales and wife Tabatha; son- Mark Bales and wife Milinda; 5 grandchildren- Haley Shirley, Keley Barnhill, Kayla Bales Hockaday, Hunter Bales and Daniel Bales; 5 great grand-children; brothers- Ronnie Marbutt and Ted Marbutt; sisters- Lynda Baker and Lisa White and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services held Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 12 Noon from the Antioch Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Kay Souder Hughes age 83 of Fultondale, AL passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 in the St Vincent's Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

Born October 31, 1942 in Bemidji, Minnesota, she is the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Worth Souder. She had lived in Fultondale the past 23 years and worked as a finical advisor for Raymond James. She was a member of the Haleyville Methodist Church.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Peggy Lewis and Patty Gann, a brother, John Souder (Renita), 8 nieces and nephews, Alan, Amy, Misty, Jeff, Chuck, Mark, Cheryl, and Lorie, and special friends and co-workers, Peppi, Melisa, Tim, Lindsey, Jessica, Marilyn and Robin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Susan Abernathy.

A Celebration Of Life Service held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Haleyville Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Born August 19, 1963, in Reform, AL She is the daughter of the late Charles Cecil and Billie Sue Price Crowell. She was a cook and a musician. She sang like an angel and was an amazing mama.
