Ernest Ray Cain, 89, of Guin, AL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 23, 2026, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin. He was born on December 7, 1936, in the Henson Springs Community to Oscar Pinkney Cain and Sarah Elizabeth Cain.
Ray is survived by his son, Phillip (Stephanie) Cain of Hamilton; daughter, Tina (Maurice) Galloway of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Griffin of Covington, LA, Jordan (Maeleigh) Cantrell of Covington, LA, Logan (Jamie) Cain of Henderson, TN, and Jessica Galloway of Gonzales, LA; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler Cain, Abbie Cain, and Mack Griffin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Cain; his parents; his brothers, John D. Cain and Pete Cain; his sisters, Beatrice Cain, Christenia Cain, Betty Revere, and Erleen Pugh.
Ray was a graduate of Marion County High School Class of 1955. He retired from 3M Company in Guin, AL, after 42 years of dedicated service. Ray was a devoted husband of 68 years, a hands on father, and a man whose quiet strength shaped every part of his life. In addition to his time at 3M, he served faithfully as a deacon at Guin First Baptist Church for more than four decades. Ray was known for his wisdom, humor, and gentle way of leading by example.
