A big thank you to Dr. Ben Abo, Medical Director for Escambia County Public Safety, for his involvement in our recent Management of Sideline Emergencies Course.
Earlier that afternoon, Dr. Abo also spent time with our Sports Medicine Outreach athletic trainers, sharing his expertise and perspective on emergency care, reinforcing the value of strong partnerships between athletic trainers, physicians, and EMS professionals.

We recently welcomed 70 athletic health care team members, including athletic trainers, athletic training students, physical therapists, coaches, and paramedicine professionals to campus for our annual Management of Sideline Emergencies course.
Through practical discussions and hands-on scenarios, attendees sharpened their emergency response skills and prepared for various emergent situations that can happen during athletic events.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's course a success. We appreciate your commitment to keeping athletes safe as the fall season gets underway!

Andrews Institute Sports Medicine Outreach team members were proud to be at the Halfway to the Holidays Night with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos over the weekend. Athletic Trainer Brandon McKown Vidal represented the Sports Medicine Outreach team during the on-field pregame festivities during the Saturday game. Bids were placed to own one of the awesome Christmas sweater themed jerseys worn in the game, and proceeds from the auction benefit our Outreach program and the services we offer throughout the two-county area!
