Urgent Prayer Request & Support Needed for Misael “Mickey” Perez

At Hardin Sports Medicine we view our patients as family. Today one of our family members needs our help more than ever.

Mickey traveled to Mexico recently with a selfless heart to help a family member in need. While there, he was caught in a dangerous situation and sustained severe, life-threatening injuries. He is currently fighting for his life in an ICU in Mexico.
To give him the best chance at recovery, he urgently needs to be medically evacuated back to the United States to receive specialized care. As you can imagine, the costs for an international medical flight are astronomical and far beyond what his family can handle alone.

Honored to announce that my research has now been accepted for presentation at two national American College of Surgeons conferences. 🇺🇸⚕️

After previously being accepted for the ACS Quality & Safety Conference in Orlando, my abstract, “Implementation of ERAS Protocols for Robotic Inguinal Hernia Repair: Enhancing Outcomes in Minor General Surgery,” has now also been accepted for presentation at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress 2026 in Washington, DC.

I’ll be presenting in the Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum as a Quick-Shot presentation focused on advancing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, improving patient outcomes, and reducing opioid utilization in minor general surgery.

This journey has been fueled by long nights, incredible mentorship, faith, and a passion for pushing surgical quality improvement forward. Grateful for every opportunity to represent my mentors, my patients, Memorial Hospital Gulfport, and IUHS School of Medicine on a national stage.

To my patients, athletes, families, and everyone across the Gulf Coast — thank you. ❤️

Beginning July 1, 2026, I will be stepping away from full-time practice in my current role as a chiropractor as I continue my journey toward becoming a medical doctor and transition into a more specialized role focused on complex patient care.

This profession has given me more than I could have ever imagined. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of treating so many incredible people, building lifelong relationships, and helping patients get back to doing what they love. Being trusted with your health has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

To the entire Gulf Coast community — thank you for the support, trust, loyalty, and memories throughout the years. It has truly been an absolute pleasure serving you all, and I am beyond grateful for every patient who walked through my doors.

This is not goodbye — just the next chapter. ❤️
