💙 June is Men's Health Month 💙

This month is a reminder that taking care of your health isn't just important—it's essential.

Men are often less likely to schedule routine checkups or talk about health concerns, but preventive care can make a significant difference in detecting health issues early and improving overall well-being.

Simple steps like scheduling an annual wellness exam, staying active, eating nutritious foods, managing stress, and keeping up with recommended screenings can help you live a healthier life.

Your health matters—to you, your family, and your community. This June, make yourself a priority and take one step toward better health.

✨ Say Hi to Tina! ✨
Tina is one of our amazing Scrub Techs and a valued part of our surgical team. She started her healthcare journey as a CNA before finding her passion in the OR.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Tina shared that the people she works with are truly like a second family that she loves dearly. ❤️

Tina says she can’t work without laughter and believes one of the best pieces of advice she’s ever heard is:
“If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.” 😊

She is always paying attention to where help is needed and stepping in to take care of it — something her team appreciates every day.

Outside of work, Tina loves spending time with family and going places together.

Thank you, Tina, for the compassion, teamwork, and positivity you bring to our hospital each day! 👏

As part of May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to help raise awareness about the difference between stress and burnout. While they may seem similar, they can affect us in very different ways.

Stress is often characterized by “too much”:
• Too much pressure
• Too many demands
• Feeling anxious
• Feeling overactive

Burnout is often characterized by “too little”:
• Feeling depleted
• Feeling empty
• Feeling unmotivated
• Feeling beyond caring

Recognizing the difference matters. Stress can make life feel overwhelming, while burnout can leave you emotionally exhausted and disconnected. Taking care of your mental health is important — and seeking support is a sign of strength. 💚

Last week we celebrated Hospital Week at Gunnison Valley Hospital, and what a week it was! We had so much fun recognizing and celebrating the incredible people who make our hospital such a special place.
A few highlights from the week:
🔎 A hospital-wide scavenger hunt to spell out a phrase — even the daycare crew got to join in on the fun!
🌶️ A salsa competition judged by local mayors and business owners (our judges took their job very seriously!)
🎉 A piñata celebration that brought out everyone’s competitive side
💰 Lindsey came out on top in our money game challenge
🥧 Employees paid $2 for the chance to pie Vikki, Steven, or Oaklee — all for a good cause! Proceeds will go toward helping a family in need and supporting projects for children and babies in our community.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Hospital Week memorable. We’re grateful for our amazing staff and community partners who make Gunnison Valley Hospital such a great place to work and serve.
