It’s Autism Awareness Month and today is Autism Awareness Day!

What do I want you to know about Autism?
Autism is there EVERY day. It impacts the person and EVERYone in their family. It never goes away. It is hard, the hardest thing I have encountered, but it also comes with beauty.

What do I want you to know about people with Autism?
They are children and they are also adults. They want exactly what you want. They want to be loved. They want to be accepted. They want to be successful. They need more patience from you. They need more acceptance from you. They need kindness and love just like you do.

What can you do to help people that live with Autism?
BE NICE! Take the extra time to connect. Teach your kids to be kind. Teach your kids to include everyone especially kids that might seem different. Teach your kids that different is not less. If we teach our kids these skills they will make this world a better place and grow into awesome adults that continue to spread kindness.
