Friendly reminder: LinkedIn is so much more than a job board. 💼

A lot of people only open the app when they're job hunting, but if that's the only way you're using it, you're leaving real value on the table. LinkedIn is where you can:
🔹 Build your professional brand
🔹 Network with people in your industry (and outside of it)
🔹 Share your insights, lessons learned, and wins
🔹 Stay current on trends in your sector
🔹 Position yourself for opportunities before you need them

Don't wait until you need something to start showing up. Find your community over there and build.
For context, my B2B consulting work serves organizations, so LinkedIn is where I focus that energy. Facebook isn't my primary platform for consulting work (that's reserved for my faith-based coaching and counseling practice), but it IS where I stay connected to the people and community I care about. 💛

Are you or your organization ready for AI, or just aware of it?

It's why I want to reshare the important work the Lake County Workforce Development Board and Lake County Workforce Development/ Job Center of Lake County IL have partnered with Deloitte Consulting to assess and ready our Lake County workforce, job seekers, and businesses for AI.

AI Readiness and Impact on the Local Workforce

Last month, Clark Edwards from Deloitte Consulting LLP gave a presentation on “AI Readiness and Impact” at the College of Lake County’s Grayslake campus, bringing together workforce and industry leaders for an important look at what AI means for our region.

The Board-funded presentation shared findings from Deloitte’s research and explored how AI is already influencing hiring, skills, and workplace expectations. A key takeaway: AI is more than technology. It’s about communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and ensuring people have equitable access to the tools they need to succeed.
