Older children and teens often want to share something special about the person who died. Inviting them to speak during the funeral gives them a chance to do that in a way that feels personal. They might tell a favorite memory, read a poem, or say a few words about what their loved one meant to them. Having a voice in the service helps them feel like a valued part of the farewell.

Young people approach this differently - some want to speak themselves, others prefer to write something for someone else to read, and some choose to honor their loved one simply by being present and listening. We're here to help you find what feels right for each child or teen in your family.

Have you considered leaving written words for your family to treasure?

Maybe it's a letter tucked in a jewelry box, a journal they'll discover later, or even a few heartfelt lines written on a card. Your words, in your handwriting, become keepsakes your family will hold onto for years to come.

You could start with something simple like "I want you to know..." and just let your personality shine through. Don't worry about making it perfect or profound. What they'll cherish most is hearing from you, exactly as you are.

What would you want them to remember about how much they mean to you?

Funerals matter because they help remind you that you never have to grieve alone.

When you gather together to remember someone's life and say goodbye, you're processing your loss alongside others who share in your sorrow. The stories, the tears and oftentimes the laughter over memories help transform raw grief into something you can carry forward.

We're here to help you honor your loss in a way that feels meaningful to you and your family.

"We don’t have a cemetery plot. What do we do?"
Families ask us this often, and if you haven’t chosen a plot yet, you’re not alone. When the time comes, we’ll help you start the process and point you in the right direction. You’ll be able to look at what’s available, ask questions, and make a choice that feels right for your family. What matters most is that you don’t have to figure it out on your own. 💙

We often serve families who are unsure if the person who died would want a funeral or any kind of gathering, especially when they never felt tied to a church or used to shrug and say, "Skip the fuss." We understand that.

We also see how even a small gathering or ritual can open the door to connection in ways that surprise people. Those simple moments often stand out later because they felt honest, personal, and exactly right for the family. If you'd like to talk through options, our team is ready to listen and guide you.

"Can we hold a viewing before cremation?" Absolutely.
You can have a viewing with cremation, and families choose this option all the time. You can also have a full funeral service before cremation if that feels right for your family.
A viewing lets family and friends gather, see your loved one one last time, and share support together. You can hold a viewing alone or as part of a full service. We prepare your loved one with the same care we use for burial. Afterward, we complete the cremation. This gives you both the time together you need and the flexibility cremation offers.

Each Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who died while serving our country. Their sacrifice shaped the freedoms we live with today, and their legacy lives in family stories, hometown traditions, and the places they once called home. With gratitude, we honor their service and the lasting mark they left on our community and on the nation they served.
