One of my first jobs this morning was in Edmond. A lady reached out yesterday and her refrigerator wasn't working as it should. I was able to get her back up and running.

Throughout the labor of the job, she had shared that she had lost her husband ten years ago. She also shared her husband's best friend was a non believer and after his passing he came to know the Lord and asked Jesus to come into his heart. Praise God.

Her daughter started journaling and she was using that as an escape to cope with her father's passing. There is alot more to the story than just journaling but now that daughter is writing songs and is sixteen years old amd it appears that she has a very promising future.

This is exactly why i love my job. Not everyone wants to share anything about their lives when I am working on their fridge, but for the ones that do, I am so very grateful.

I was reminded again this morning of how truly GOOD Jesus is to all of us.

I still do quite a bit of work for the people that I used to deliver furniture to when I worked at Actons Furniture from 1996-2009. One of my calls today was for a lady i met when I worked there by the name of Carzetta Threatts. I can't tell you how many times I have been in her house, whether it be installing a window unit, delivering a sofa and love seat or working on her washer, as i did this morning. Carzetta is such a sweet soul. Every time I leave her we tell each other we love one another and I depart. Today was a little different. She asked if she could pray for me before I left. We joined hands and she prayed blessings over my family and business and thanked God for our friendship.

Business doesn't always run smooth and some days are very challenging. That prayer is exactly what I needed on this beautiful, Thursday morning. I feel so fortunate for those lasting relationships. And I feel so fortunate to be able to work for people like Carzetta Threatts.

I have some amazing relationships with alot of my customers. I'm not sure i would put any of em in front of this one. This is Barbara Ruhl and she is very special to me. Today, Barbara turns 94 years young. Please help me wish her a Happy Birthday! Not many things I wouldn't do for this special lady.

You are looking at an evaporator motor for a Frigidaire refrigerator. The son of this customer purchased an aftermarket motor. She said it ran for 72 hours and was louder than the original and after three days the entire unit shut down. The aftermarket motor was drawing three times the amount of amps and it fried the main control board. Now, instead of a couple hundred dollars this will turn into a fairly major expense. I am all about repairing things yourself, but please order original equipment when doing so. I promise you it will save you time and money. Even OEM parts have went downhill over the last 16 years. Things certainly aren't built the way they used to be built.

Felt someone watching me as I walk into my customers house to see why their dryer isn't heating. He obviously wasn't too happy about the dryer or me being there, i couldn't get a word out of em.

Friday was one of those days where being busy felt more like a burden than a blessing. The phone kept ringing, the schedule was packed, and I found myself feeling stressed and overwhelmed. I had sent over a thousand dollars in parts back and my package was missing in action. With each notification brought more anxiety.

But somewhere between appliance calls, I met two customers who were fighting battles far greater than a broken washer or refrigerator. Listening to their stories reminded me that everyone is carrying something, and some burdens are much heavier than a busy workday. One man has a daughter who is 8 years old and her name is Harper. They found a mass in Harper's abdomen. She is going thru extensive testing. If you would, please pray for this sweet girl. The very next call was some folks I have worked for on multiple occasions. He is battling severe COPD. He expressed how he is getting irritated with his treatment and honestly it felt like hope was a thing of the past. It sure triggered some of the same feelings I faced while watching mom towards the end of her Earthly run. Please pray for this man and his wife. It put things into perspective for me. The truth is, I prayed for days like this. I prayed for work, for customers, and for the opportunity to provide for my family.

Friday reminded me that gratitude can change everything. A busy schedule is a blessing. A hard day is still a gift. And sometimes God uses the people we meet along the way to remind us of what really matters.
If you're going through something difficult, know that you're not alone. Keep fighting, keep believing, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You never know who you're encouraging just by continuing to show up.

Tonight, I'm thankful for the work, thankful for the perspective, and thankful for another day to serve people in my community. ❤️🙏

My first call this morning was in Langston. Once I received the address I thought about some good people I delivered furniture to when I used to work at Acton's Furniture who was Dr. Lester and Dr. Jo Ann Clark. I mean salt of the Earth kind of people and great pillars in their community. So I did what we all do and went to Google and typed in their names. I was awfully sad to find out that Lester passed away on my birthday last year which was June 13th. I then typed Jo Ann's name in and came across many things talking about her selfless service over the years.

As I pull in Langston and turn down the road, I soon realize that the house i was going to was the Clark residence. And guess who answered the door? You got it, Jo Ann Clark. We caught up and I fixed her washer and as I left my heart was so full of joy. I bet I haven't seen Jo Ann in nearly two decades.

I have said it before and ill say it again, I work for some of the greatest people on this Earth. Jo Ann and Lester are certainly in that category.
