Loyola Paulette Ellsworth, 78, of Boise City, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City, Oklahoma.
Loyola, known by most as Lola, was born on July 13, 1948, in Clayton, New Mexico, to Romolo and Cornelia (Sisernos) Martinez. She graduated from Clayton High School with the Class of 1967. On December 15, 1973, she married Richard Guy "Dickey" Ellsworth in Clayton, New Mexico. To this union were born two daughters, Lydia and Metzi.
Lola attended classes in Oklahoma City and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in 1989. She spent the majority of her career caring for others at Cimarron Memorial Nursing Home, as well as serving as a private caregiver. She was known for her compassionate heart and selfless nature, always taking care of others. Never without a hug or a smile, she was a true friend to everyone and loved by many. Her joyous spirit was contagious wherever she went.
Outside of work, Lola enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard, caring for her animals, and making memories with those she loved. Her greatest joy was being a Nana, and the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be forever cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Romolo and Cornelia (Sisernos) Martinez, and her loving husband, Richard Guy "Dickey" Ellsworth; and her niece and nephew.
Lola is survived by her daughters, Lydia Payne and husband Gene of Amistad, New Mexico, and Metzi Brown and husband Travis of Boise City, Oklahoma; sisters, Diane Martinez, Joann Padilla, Kathy Drumm, Julia Martinez, and Stephanie Rodriguez; brothers, John Martinez and Charles Sisernos; four grandchildren, Justin Payne and wife Kenzie of Amistad, New Mexico, Morgan Crawford and husband Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, Connie Strand and husband Colton of San Jon, New Mexico, and Bailey Wiley and husband Matthew of Boise City, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Kynlee, Chesney, Charmayne, Kooper, Ronan, Grace, and Kami Jo; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Boise City Cemetery in Boise City, Oklahoma, with Trevor Bulls officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loyola's memory to the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted through Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
