What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)? RA is a form of arthritis in which the immune system wrongly begins to attack the lining of the joints

RA commonly affects the knees, hands or ankles, but can also cause problems in other areas of the body too, such as the lungs, eyes, heart and circulatory system

What are the symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

2️⃣ The same joints on both sides of the body are usually affected
🦴 Joint pain, often worse in the mornings or after a period of being inactive
🌀 Joint stiffness, often worse in the mornings or after a period of being inactive
💢 Swollen, red and hot joints
🔋 Fatigue
🤒 High temperature & sweating
⭕ Small lumps under the skin over bony areas called Rheumatoid Nodules
🍽️ Poor appetite
🔃 Weight loss/weight gain
👄 Mouth dryness and gum inflammation, irritation, infections
👁️ Dry, red, inflamed, painful eyes with sensitivity to light and problems seeing properly
🌬️ Chest pain & lung inflammation

Remember that not everyone with RA will have all of these symptoms!
