Meet Lawrence — A Story of Strength, Hope, and Second Chances
When Lawrence walked through the doors of Survival Recovery in late August 2025, he was ready for a change. Like many who come to us, his past was marked by addiction, time in jail, and moments of hopelessness. But Lawrence also came with something powerful — the willingness to try again. From the start, Lawrence made the decision to climb the mountain of recovery, one step at a time, with the support of the Survival team behind him. He came in ready to rebuild not just his life, but also his sense of self-worth. His journey hasn’t been easy, but his determination has never wavered.
In his own words, Lawrence shared:
“Survival is where everyone is given a second chance. They’ll help you obtain your credentials — your ID, Social Security card, and other resources. They’ll help you build a resume, find a job, get to work, and develop a strong recovery network. They help you get back on track and see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
And that light has continued to grow brighter every day. Since joining the program, Lawrence has maintained his sobriety, secured steady employment, and become an active, supportive member of our community. His positive attitude, reliability, and compassion for others make him someone both staff and residents can count on. He has shown that recovery isn’t just about staying clean — it’s about rebuilding your life with integrity, purpose, and gratitude. At Survival Recovery, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance — and Lawrence is living proof of what’s possible when that opportunity is met with effort, faith, and the right support system.
