“Hey, mama, ah, ow,
I wanna scream so loud for you
‘Cause I’m so proud of you
Let me tell you what I’m about to do” (“ Hey Mama”- Kanye West)
This year, I am hosting two Autumn Equinox gatherings in honor of my mama. 🤍
This time of year has historically been a difficult one for me. As we begin to lose the light and welcome the darkness, my body remembers.
My mom left her earthly body on a dark, late-fall morning—December 15, 1999. I was a sophomore in high school, just 15 years young.
It has been almost 27 years.
And after years of healing, through many different practices—one of them being Reiki, and a big part of why I now share Reiki with the world—I can finally feel something shifting.
The darkness doesn’t feel quite as heavy anymore.
I almost feel afraid to say it, but... I feel good.
Of course, as September moves toward December, I still remember those final months of 1999—the last months I shared with my mother. But I am beginning to hold those memories differently.
If you ever had the honor of knowing my mom, you knew one thing for sure: she was love.❤️
And when she left this earthly body, her love was what I missed the most. Somewhere in my grief, I think I even forgot what that love felt like for a while.
But love has a way of finding us again.
That is what these gatherings and holding space for people means to me.
As we move from light into darkness this Autumn Equinox, I am holding two loving spaces at two places that mean so much to me.
Friday 9/18/26 6-8pm Sistermoon Farm
Sunday 9/20/26 5-6:30pm Regenerate Float Center
I invite you to join us at one, or the other or both
In honor of my mama.
In honor of the light and the dark.
In honor of grief, healing, love, and all the ways we continue to find our way home. 🤍
