Our Hat Expo was a big hit as we explored the world of headwear with an exhibit of hats from around the world and from different periods of history. We had so much fun learning about the various hats and trying them on! The exhibit sparked a lot of reminiscing; our residents fondly recall the days when dressing up required a hat!

Today, on National Senior Citizens Day, we’re celebrating the wisdom, stories, laughter, and life experiences of the incredible seniors who call our community home.

Every life story is filled with moments worth remembering, accomplishments worth celebrating, and memories that have shaped the people and communities around us. We’re honored to celebrate each resident and all that makes them uniquely who they are.

Dancing is incredibly beneficial for our residents; it improves balance, coordination, flexibility, and muscle strength in addition to cardiovascular exercise that promotes heart health and endurance. Also, the mental engagement of dancing is shown to improve memory, concentration, and cognitive function. Additionally, we love to dance because it boosts our mood and emotional well being!

Our latest trip to Misty Meadows Farm Creamery was fantastic as we enjoyed a nice afternoon of spectacular ice cream, beautiful scenery, and friendly animals. Misty Meadows is definitely one of our go-to spots, we highly recommend!

Staff Spotlight: Hope
Hope has been a dedicated member of our team for almost seven years. She expertly serves our residents as a certified medication technician. She credits her love for helping people as her motivation for joining us in our memory care neighborhood. She describes her residents as being family to her; she treasures the relationships and bonds that she forms with residents and their families. She loves to help out with activities such as artistic expression and is always mindful of our residents and their well being. When not at work Hope is happily busy with her two children. She also enjoys sports, especially rooting on the Baltimore Orioles. Hope is truly one of the best!
