The Hagerstown Flying Boxcars ⚾ hit another home run this week, lending the time and kindness of players Alex Isola and Jalen Miller! These home-field superstars jumped in and had fun playing a game of "whack-a-mole" (spoiler alert - they were the moles!), and even grabbed the microphone to sing a little karaoke with our residents!

We are so lucky to have great community partnerships like these, and even luckier to have so many smiling faces that call Coffman home! Best wishes for a great season, and GO BOXCARS!

Elvis is coming back to Coffman next week, and we're making things nice and... blue! It's a Blue Suede Shoes party, and we're encouraging folks to wear their favorite shades of blue (doesn't have to be shoes, of course!). Elvis impersonator Taylor Brown does an incredible tribute act to the King, and our residents always have the best day when he stops by (so do we!)

We're inviting friends and family members of our residents to join us, too! Plan for a great afternoon of fun together August 11th, 2pm! Refreshments will be provided as well, thanks to our great Activities Department and volunteers!

Elvis is coming back to Coffman, and we're making things nice and... blue! Our very first "pet" spa day was a blast! Thanks to the Furry Friends Project from Ageless Innovation, residents here at Coffman Nursing Home care for these four-legged friends.

These interactive cats and dogs respond to touch and sound, offering companionship, engagement, and plenty of smiles along the way! And they can be groomed just like a real pet.

The program helps us explore how these companion pets can enhance the quality of life for residents, and the response so far has been so heartwarming. From gentle purrs to wagging tails, these furry friends have already become a favorite part of many residents’ days!

Check out some of the fun 4th of July moments we shared together this past weekend! Our Independence Day social included some festive fruit parfaits, bingo, and some music! Due to Friday’s heat, we couldn’t quite take the field trip we wanted to see some fireworks, but we wondered if we could take a quick night trip into the parking lot and see some. Thanks to our wonderful nursing assistants who used their personal break times to help, we were able to make it happen! 🎆🧨

Saturday, we kept the fun going with banana splits, temporary tattoos, some yummy burgers and hot dogs, and a chance to relax and visit with family!

The spirit of America’s 250th certainly felt alive and well here at Coffman! ❤️🤍💙
