Your timeline is unique and your own, just as your body. Some are blessed with great genetics and heal and recover quickly, while others who maybe had a long labor or a cesarean may heal a little slower. Your age, how many babies you carried or have had, and other factors like tearing, hyper mobility, etc are also to be accounted for.

Save this for when you are wondering if you’re ready to return to the gym postpartum:
1. You can contract AND relax your pelvic floor.
2. You can effectively do 360 breathing and understand pressure management
3. Give yourself time to heal 💛
4. Complete foundational exercises: dead bugs, bridges, and bird dogs are a few examples
5. You can pass the Return to Movement Screening

Stay tuned for the screening in my next video ✌️

Why do you workout?

To heal postpartum? Aesthetics? Combat an illness? Longevity? Whatever the reason, use that for the days you’d rather sit and scroll, when you’re tired because the baby won’t sleep, when you just don’t feel like it.

Your WHY is what will help you stay consistent and get the results you want.

What or who is your motivation?

If you have ever experienced prolapse or pelvic heaviness, it’s a scary feeling 😱

It may start slow, with only experiencing the feeling at the end of the day

Then you start to feel it with lifting or working out

It may even escalate to feeling the heaviness all day

Soon you’re googling symptoms at 2 am and have the constant thought that you will never get back to your former life.

But here’s the good news 🗞️ prolapse is manageable and can even improve! Learning how to manage pressure, improving breathing techniques, and adjusting workouts while you gain strength is only the beginning. I’ve had moms with grade 3 prolapse come to me with their goal to be able to jump on a trampoline with their kids. And guess what?! She totally accomplished it!

Curious to know where to start your healing journey? Comment the word PROLAPSE and I’ll send you the link to get access to our mini prolapse webinar.

Random YouTube workouts, waist trainers, and chat GPT are not the answer to healing your diastasis. Because if it were that easy, nobody would be late night googling if crunches are bad.

The best way to close the Diastasis gap is by having the right tools and approach and that comes from a professionally trained eye to personalize your exercises.

Did you know the placenta leaves a dinner plate sized wound after delivery? 😳😬

It’s important to take it easy and rest during the first few weeks postpartum. If that wound were visible, everyone in your house would be tending to you! Don’t feel guilty or rushed to get out of bed so early after having your baby.

During this critical healing period you may experience bleeding, soreness, and major physical changes to your body. Do yourself a favor and slow down!

We learn so much simply from the experience of having a child. Learning how to care for a tiny human is such a special yet humbling journey.

If you could go back to your first time as a parent, what would advice would you give yourself? 🧐

Steps to feeling better fast 💛

1. Grab a firm ball. I love using RAD rollers with my patients, but a tennis ball is a good alternative.
2. Find a wall and place the ball on the achy part of your hips
3. Press the ball into your hip using the wall. You can either roll it along the hip or hold the pressure for relief.

Why it works 👉🏽 this is called self Myofascial release and just like foam rolling, it helps to relax tight and overstimulated muscles.

Level it up and follow muscle release with hip stabilization and glute strengthening exercises for long lasting relief 🌀

Breastfeeding got you feeling like the tin man? 🤱🏽

The newborn phase is tough. Add in cluster feedings, contact naps, and clingy toddlers it’s not wonder it leaves our upper backs screaming and chest feeling tight.

The fix is simple and I promise it won’t take you all day. Try these exercises to keep you moving and feeling great no matter how long the feed takes:

✨shoulder rotations
✨thoracic extension
✨oblique stretch
✨chest stretch
✨oblique stretch

Aim to sprinkle the movement throughout the day, holding for 30 seconds or 10 breaths

Let’s work together 🤝
