The Arc is seeking a Senior Director of Community Living Programs to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for adult residential services supporting approximately 150 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Washington County, Maryland.

This impactful leadership role provides the opportunity to guide a dedicated team, enhance service excellence, and ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centered support that promotes choice, dignity, independence, health, safety, and community inclusion.

The Senior Director will champion Person-Centered Thinking principles while ensuring compliance with agency, local, state, federal, and DDA requirements, as well as CARF accreditation standards. This position plays a key role in advancing organizational goals, improving outcomes, and strengthening programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.

☀️ Great Weather. Great Fun. Great Memories!

Our Outreach Personal Supports program had a wonderful time visiting the Washington County Ag Expo & Fair in July! From enjoying the beautiful weather to exploring the exhibits, animals, delicious fair food, and entertainment, everyone had a fantastic day in the community.

These outings provide opportunities to build friendships, experience new activities, and create lasting memories while having fun together.

We can't wait for our next adventure!

🎉 Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a 2026 Community Impact Grant from the Maryland Department of Disabilities and the Ethan Saylor Alliance (ESA)!

This grant supports Maryland non-profits in creating local initiatives that strengthen relationships between law enforcement, first responders, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). True to the mission of the Ethan Saylor Alliance, this upcoming season puts self-advocates directly into central leadership roles.

With this funding, we are launching three initiatives:

🧡Monthly Self-Advocacy Speakers this summer

🧡Intensive Self-Advocacy Training: Empowering approximately 25 people we support through a 4-week program (meeting twice a week for two hours a day).

🧡First Responder Training Course Prep

We are proud to partner with the Ethan Saylor Alliance to foster mutual understanding, safety, and respect right here in Washington County!
