🍎 Wellness Wednesday 🗣️

Back to school doesn't just mean buying supplies—it also means preparing your mental health.

As a new school year begins, it's normal to experience excitement, nervousness, or a mix of emotions. Taking care of your mental well-being can help make the transition smoother.

Try these tips:
📚 Establish a consistent sleep routine.
🥗 Fuel your body with nutritious meals.
🎒 Prepare backpacks and lunches the night before.
🧘 Take a few deep breaths when feeling overwhelmed.
💬 Talk to a trusted adult, friend, or counselor about how you're feeling.

Remember: It's okay to ask for help. You don't have to navigate the school year alone.

Question for your followers: What's one healthy habit you're bringing into this school year?

🌈 This Wellness Wednesday we are celebrating Pride Month!

As social workers & counselors, we believe in the dignity, worth, and self-determination of every person. This Pride Month, we honor the resilience, history, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community — and reaffirm our commitment to creating safe, affirming spaces where everyone can live authentically.

Pride is more than a celebration — it’s a reminder that advocacy, compassion, and allyship are ongoing responsibilities. Together, we can challenge discrimination, amplify voices, and build a future rooted in respect and inclusion.

💬 How you can join us:

Listen to and uplift LGBTQ+ stories
Advocate for inclusive policies and practices
Stand up against hate and bias in all forms
🏳️‍🌈 Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued — this month and every month.

💚 Wellness Wednesday 💚

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — a reminder that taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.

Life can get overwhelming, and it’s okay to not have everything figured out. What matters is making space for yourself: to rest, to feel, to heal, and to grow. Whether it’s talking to someone you trust, stepping outside for fresh air, journaling your thoughts, or simply taking a break — small actions can make a big difference.

💚 Check in with yourself today:
How am I really feeling?
What do I need right now?

And don’t forget to check in on others too. A simple message or conversation can mean more than you know.

You are not alone. Support is out there, and your mental health matters — today and every day.

For April's Wellness Wednesday we'd like to spotlight Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) - a time for advocates, survivors, their loved ones, and the community to come together to talk openly about sexual violence to support survivors, increase knowledge and awareness, and identify strategies and resources to prevent sexual violence. Let’s all join efforts to end sexual violence in our communities. Links in comments.

🗣️Wellness Wednesday🗣️

March is Social Work Month! 💓Each year NASW has a theme for the month and this year it is: Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform. We want to take time to honor all Social Workers and Licensed Counselors this month for uplifting, defending and positively transforming the people you work with.

The work you do is demanding and can be stressful at times. Providing excellent care to clients also means making sure you to take care of yourself as well. What do you do to make sure you are taking care of you?? Some of the things we enjoy are doing puzzles, reading a book or going for a walk. Having that one friend/co-worker to vent to is always a plus too!

The words we use matter! Instead of using terms like "alcoholic", "clean" or "mentally ill" use phrases like "person with a substance related disorder", "in recovery" or "person living with a mental health disorder."
