Our USA travels brought us to our home state of Minnesota. We watched a presentation about Minnesota , played trivia and ate s’mores.
Craft day -we worked on a Minnesota facts mobile and painted our state with a dot added to where we live.
On Friday it was heritage days. We had three of the Activity Staff, Morgan, Saydi, and Brenna go on the Kittson Central Europe trip. Morgan did a presentation on their recent trip. The pictures brought lots of conversation of the heritage our residents. A Scandinavian treat of Spritz and Kramkake and coffee followed.
They ended the week with ice cream cones for Saturday treat. Thanks for a great week of traveling around Minnesota.

This we kept busy with Shark Week 🦈 and Beach Fun🦀🪼🐡🌞 Thank you to Caylie Nicholson for coming in and doing a shell craft with the residents.

Residents were treated with ice cream and music this week. Thank you to auto value for handing out ice cream treats, and to Catherine, Lem, Heidi and Delfin for singing to the residents on the patio .

What a wonderful way to wrap up our Fair Week celebration in the nursing home! 🎡🍿🍦

Our residents had an amazing time over the last two days enjoying carnival games, popcorn, ice cream, and plenty of candy. We were thrilled to welcome Heather Hanson and her beautiful horses, along with Silly Miss Tilly, who brought smiles and laughter to everyone. 🐴🎉🎈

The fun continued with delicious fair food from the 4-H stand, followed by one of the most anticipated events of the day—a pie in the face for one of the top three employees voted on by the residents! Our beloved RN Resident Care Coordinator, Breanna Wallenberg earned the most votes & a plate of whip cream to the face! Thanks to those willing to participate; it sure made the residents day!🥧😄 We ended the evening with everyone's favorite game of bingo!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated their time & talents to make these special events possible. Your generosity helped create wonderful memories for our residents, and we are so grateful for your support!

Yesterday the residents enjoyed music from Johnny Pineapple with a yummy tropical birthday dessert for one of our residents made by family! 🌺🌴🍍🏖️

What an incredible Dessert Contest! 🍰💙
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to bake and share their delicious creations with our residents, families, and staff. We had 13 amazing desserts entered:

After lots of tasting and voting, our winners were:

🏆 Grand Champion with an incredible 90 stars: Karen Soliah with her Blueberry Cheesecake!

🥈 2nd Place: Cindy Urbaniak with her Strawberry Angel Food Cake!

🥉 3rd Place: Jen Hanson with her Banana Bars!

As the residents and family members enjoyed their treats, they watched a concert from the 1989 Kitson County fair. It brought back so many wonderful memories and some great conversations were had. A special thank you to Loren Younggren for reaching out and sharing this incredible video with us!

Thank you again, to everyone who donated their time, ingredients, and talent to make this event possible. Your generosity brought smiles, started a few heated debates about old family dessert recipes, and created a fun experience that our residents and staff truly enjoyed.

Events like this are about so much more than dessert. They help our residents stay connected with the community, make lasting memories, and remind them they are surrounded by people who care. Thank you for helping us create moments of joy and making our community a sweeter place, one dessert at a time! ❤️
