Connecticut Healing Center The CT Healing Center is a safe, supportive environment for the healing of mind and body.

The mission of the center is to build stronger families and to be a place for families to access a variety of services in one location. Usually parents in crisis have to go to different places for services such as individual and family therapy and medication management. With a focus on the connection between the emotional and physical health of the family, CTHC allows the family to benefit from these services in one setting. At the Center you will find a staff of practitioners specializing in a range of services from psychotherapy, medication management, educational and vocational consultation and group psychotherapy. An initial diagnostic assessment is done evaluating your needs for treatment.

Excited to share the trailer for my Women In Power Episode. The House Worth Fighting For
She bought a house to give people a second chance. Then the neighborhood sued her, and the brother she was trying to help died.
For Jennifer Barba, success was never supposed to look like this.
A respected psychiatric leader and single mother, Jennifer walks away from a demanding hospital career to build Connecticut Healing Center. But when she joins forces with her brother Matt, who has spent years battling addiction, their shared vision becomes something bigger: a safe place where people in recovery can rebuild their lives.
Then everything unravels.
A neighborhood association launches a legal battle against their sober living home. In the middle of the fight, Matt relapses and dies. Devastated, Jennifer faces an impossible decision: abandon the dream or fight to keep his legacy alive.
She chooses to fight.
Through Keystone Recovery Homes and Matt’s Homestead, she turns personal tragedy into a mission to help people overcome addiction, confront stigma, and reclaim their futures. But another battle awaits when a rare, debilitating illness threatens her own health and independence.
On Women in Power, Jennifer reveals what it takes to keep going when grief, opposition, and illness threaten everything you’ve built.
Because sometimes the greatest legacy isn’t the life you create for yourself. It’s the lives you refuse to give up on. Inside Success TV Women In Power TV Jennifer Barba LCSW

Radical Acceptance is a DBT skill designed to be a practice where one meets difficult moments with less resistance. DBT is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Cultivating radical acceptance starts with noticing where you are meeting resistance and then let go of the need to control what cannot be changed. Ground yourself in the present moment, your breathing, your body and your surroundings. Pause judgement and black and white thinking. Reframe gently with a phrase such as “This is hard and I can handle it.” Create your own phrase that works for you. Acceptance doesn’t mean approval it is starting from what is.

Needing Reassurance Dependent Personality Disorder Needing reassurance can look like insecurity, but it may be something deeper Dependent Personality Disorder can look like insecurity. It is not just that. Someone with DPD may fear being alone struggle to make decisions in need repeated reassurance. They may avoid disagreement and say yes to keep their support systems in place. They may fear abandonment or losing relationships, and feel overwhelmed when one relationship ends. Someone with DPD will seek a new relationship immediately when one ends. Obsessive thoughts and behaviors coincide as well. Understanding the difference is the first step to seeking out support.

Thoughts are not always just overthinking-sometimes it may be OCD. Everyone has strange, random or unwanted thoughts the difference is that OCD convinces you those thoughts mean something important. OCD can make a thought feel a reflection of who you are, something that must be figured out or eliminated or even dangerous at times. Healing is not about getting rid of intrusive thoughts. It’s about changing your relationship to them. You can learn it to notice a thought without obeying it.
