The Mother’s Day Brunch at Meadow Mills at Whitney Center this past weekend was a beautiful celebration of the mothers and grandmothers who mean so much to our community. Residents and families gathered to enjoy a delicious meal, meaningful conversation, and the joy of being together.

At Meadow Mills, moments like these are especially important. They create connection, spark memories, and remind our residents that they are surrounded by love and support every day.

We are still smiling thinking about our amazing Spring Fling event! 🌸 It was our absolute pleasure to host well over 100 residents, families, and friends for a day centered on community and joy.

Seeing our backyard filled with kids at The Little Petting Zoo and hearing the Band-Ecklectics live music was exactly what we envisioned for this intergenerational celebration. From the thrill of the axe throwing and carnival games to the smell of fresh made-to-order donuts, hot dogs and burgers, it was a perfect day from start to finish. 🎡🍔

There is nothing we love more than seeing a passion for care come full circle! 💙

Please join us in giving a very warm Meadow Mills welcome to our newest CNA, Lakiesha Saunders!

You may recognize Lakiesha from her work over in Dining Services. However, she has been with Whitney for a number of years and was previously a certified CNA. And even though her career path led her to hospitality, her heart always remained in clinical care.

As shifts in Dining operations paved the way for new beginnings, Lakiesha saw a beautiful opportunity to step back into the world of clinical care. Learning that her CNA certification expired, she went back to school, and recently completed her certification course with Excel Academy, officially reinstating her certification.

Lakiesha has only been with us for a few weeks, but she has already become an integral part of the Meadow Mills team. Her transition has been seamless, and it’s clear she has found her true calling here. Your passion for care makes you a perfect fit for our community, Lakiesha!

Leverage the Bring Me Back Home program as a vital layer of protection and reassurance. Registration is easy and complimentary.

We at Meadow Mills Assisted Living & Memory Care would like to share this information as many are still not aware of Bring Me Back Home.

(BMBH) is a new registry for Connecticut residents which allows law enforcement access to information to assist in the recovery of missing or wandering persons. The provided information and photo, accessible through the COLLECT criminal justice and safety system, helps first responders and families reunite with individuals living with cognitive challenges, such as Dementia or Autism. This information is confidential and secure and can only be accessed by law enforcement personnel in an emergency.

Who is eligible?
All members of the community whose cognitive challenges may lead to confusion and disorientation, and who are at risk of wandering or getting lost.
