Sylvie Anne Blanchard, age 54 of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Sylvie was born on November 12, 1971 in Cornwall, Ontario. She married her husband of almost 25 years, Christopher Roehl, on November 10, 2001 in Montpelier, Ohio. Sylvie is survived by her mother and step-father, Stella (Dufour) Leroux and Alan Leroux; husband, Christopher Roehl; step-mother, Claudette Blanchard; brother, Michel (Nathalie) Blanchard; step-sisters, Sheryl (John) Schelter, Jennifer (Tom) Mitchell, and Angela (Colin) Bourbonnais; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diane and Richard Roehl; brother-in-law, Andrew Roehl; nieces and nephews, Maryse, Samuel, Chelsea, Justin, Jonah, Christopher, Catherine, Sam, Alexander, and Anderson; and many other family members and friends. Randall Joe Cheek, age 63 of Middletown, passed away at Ohio’s Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was born on January 1, 1963 in Hamilton, the son of the late Grover “Joe” and Betty Jean (Baker) Cheek. Randall is survived by his daughter, Kara Cheek; grandchildren, Kysaiah (Ron) Cheek and Camrynn Chapman; siblings, Robert (Michelle) Bowling, Shirley Adkins, Chance Cheek, and Darby Cheek; and many nieces and nephews. Aelin Joan Longtin, sweet baby girl of Ryan and Corey (Wiesman) Longtin, was born sleeping on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Though small, she was loved beyond measure. Aelin is survived by her loving parents, Ryan and Corey; siblings, Colin Longtin, Kyra Landacre, Elizabeth Longtin, and Josephine Longtin; grandparents, Rocky Wiesman, Patrick McCracken, and Retha (Timothy Hood) Longtin; and many other family members, too numerous to count. We extend our condolences to the family of Frank Gardner during this difficult time.

Frank William Gardner passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 76 and will be deeply missed by his family and community. He was the beloved husband of the late Tara Gardner for nearly 40 years. He is survived by his loving siblings, Pat Gardner, Dave (Jan) Gardner, and Joyce Ellis; 2 nieces; 4 nephews; 17 grandnieces and nephews; and 7 great-grandnieces and nephews. He was the cherished step-father of Susan Miles and Mike Miller; and grandfather of Roger Miles, Sara Miller (Jack Clark), and the late Jennifer Miller. Frank was devoted to his community, his family, the arts, and his faith. He will be remembered for his service, kindness, and gentle, curious nature.

A Visitation will begin at 9:30am, immediately followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd, West Chester, OH 45069. Please join the family after the service in a Celebration of Life Reception at Kitty Brew Cafe, 721 Reading Rd, Mason, OH 45040 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Karen Sue Rose, age 69 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati at Christ Hospital on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was born on November 26, 1956 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Benton and Juanita (Huff) Smith. Karen is survived by her son, Jason Gray; granddaughter, Alia Gray; siblings, Elbert (Kathy) Smith, Patricia (Isaac) Stewart, Kathy Clemmons, and Betty (Gene) Wagers; special sister-in-law, Reda Wagers; sister-in-law, Carla Smith; beloved friend, Bev Hicks; and many loving nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Juanita; brother, Benton “Reggie” Smith; niece, Angie Eskins; nephew, Stephen Benton Stewart; and her father-in-law whom she loved dearly, Delbert Gray. Mary Jane Phillips, 87, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born on May 29, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Joseph Eugene Pike and Ruth Mae (Croswait) Pike. Mary Jane dedicated many years of her life as a child care provider at Presbyterian Creative Children’s Center, where she touched the lives of countless families and children. Beloved mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Dale Phillips, whom she married on February 2, 1957, and who passed away on June 3, 2005; her parents; her siblings, David Allen Pike, Frederick Eugene Pike, Dorothy Lee Nicholas, JoAnn Pike, Rosie Shackleford, Patty Collins, and Debbie Reeves; her granddaughter, Meagon Rhea Williams; and her son-in-law, Joseph Cracraft. Mary Jane is survived by her loving children: Mary Jane Cracraft, Julie Ann (Michael) Roark, and Rick (Shawnrae) Phillips. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Rikki Phillips, Michael Scott Roark, Travis Michael Roark, Samisha Courtney, Sean Courtney, and Chantia Hubbard, as well as many great-grandchildren. Barbara was born on February 24, 1948 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Billy Gene and Marjorie Lee (Atkins) Hamilton. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. Douglas “Scott” Abrams, age 58, passed away on April 15, 2026 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, Ohio. He was born on January 24, 1968, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Douglas O. Abrams and Diane (Sons) Abrams. He is survived by his loving parents, Douglas O. Abrams and Diane Abrams; his daughter, Devyn Abrams; his cherished grandsons, Aidan Brackett and Conrad Brackett; and his sister, Melissa Abrams. Douglas Scott Abrams will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the time he spent with those closest to him. Our sympathies go out to the family of Willis Delker Jr. during their time of loss.

Willis Eldon Delker Jr. has departed faithfully at the age of 81 at Kettering Health Hamilton on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 5:36pm after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 12, 1944, the son of Willis and Anna Mae (Becker) Delker. A graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School, he had attended St. Ann Catholic School and was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. During his younger years, he was a Journeyman Electrician employed by Fisher Body, a newspaper carrier, and a rural mail carrier for Hamilton and other areas including Trenton. On the beautiful Spring day of May 2, 1970, he married Marcia Ann Young, an LPN at St. Ann Catholic Church. They spent a lot of nice time in Washington State. Towards the end of 1970, Willis was drafted into the US Army, serving in Phang Rang, Vietnam. Later in life, they had five sons, all of which, just like their father, enjoyed watching trains. He also loved reading comics, word games, hunting mushrooms, travel, and liked baseball, football, and basketball. He had great moments and fun with his dogs, Smokey and Upton, and a few other dogs. Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, Stuart Delker of Middletown, Dean (Joy) Delker of Maineville, Elliott Delker of Oxford, and Stacy Delker of Trenton; and grandchildren, Avery Delker and Logan Delker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Anna Mae; and son, Makinen Delker. The family would like to express their appreciation to the medical staff at Kettering Health Hamilton for their fast efforts, his doctors over the years, their close neighbors, and all his many friends. A Visitation will be held from 4pm until 6pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30am on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton. We extend our condolences to the family of William Proffitt during this difficult time.

William Otis Proffitt, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. A man whose life spanned eight decades of change, William was born on September 26, 1946, and remained a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. Bill was known for his unwavering work ethic, where he spent over 40 years at Champion International Paper (Smart Paper) devoted to a swing shift schedule. William’s greatest pride wasn’t in what he achieved – it was seeing his children and grandchildren go further, grow stronger, and live better than he ever could. Throughout his life, he found great joy in the outdoors camping and spending time with his family. Whether he was telling stories on the porch, traveling, or watching his favorite sports team, Bill approached life with a sense of quality, integrity, and pride. He is survived by a family who will miss him dearly, including his devoted spouse of 60 years, Linda Stidham-Proffitt; his children, Tonja (Greg) Ernst, Sonja (Kenny) Roberts, and Melissa Hughes (Jim O’Neal); his grandchildren, Sheri (Danny) Arents, Brandon (Jessica) Cox, Amber (Aaron) Walter, Justin Proffitt, Devin (Taylor) Traylor, and Jacob Roberts; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Earnie (Sheila) Proffitt, Judy Shoemaker, and Rick (Dolly) Proffitt; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Stidham and Jennell Proffitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Earnest Proffitt; and his siblings, Sherry Proffitt and Paul Proffitt. Bill served in the US Army February 7, 1966 with an honorable discharge February 6, 1968. He received the national defense service medal as a sharpshooter (Rifle). A Visitation in celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 10am until 12pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, with a Service beginning at 12pm with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating.
