In Loving Memory of Paramedic Jeff Tucker

End of Watch: October 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that Harris County EMS announces the passing of our friend, colleague, and brother, Paramedic Jeff Tucker, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff dedicated decades of his life to emergency medical services, spending many of those years faithfully serving the citizens of Harris County. For Jeff, EMS was never just a job. It was a calling, a passion, and a part of who he was.

Although Jeff retired in July 2026, his love for the profession never faded. Those who knew him understood that, had his health allowed, he likely would have continued doing the work he loved for years to come. His dedication to EMS and the people he served was unwavering.

But there was much more to Jeff than the uniform he wore. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jeff cherished his family above all else. He also had another passion that many may not have known about — professional wrestling. Jeff owned and operated his own wrestling business and even stepped into the ring himself as “The American Paramedic.” It was a fitting name for a man whose identity as a paramedic extended well beyond his time on the ambulance.

Jeff lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and dedication. Whether caring for patients, entertaining a crowd in the wrestling ring, or spending time with those he loved, he embraced the things that mattered most to him.

While his retirement marked the end of his active service, it never marked the end of his place in our EMS family. The bonds formed through years of working side by side do not end when someone hangs up their uniform.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of service, countless memories, and a lasting impression on the people who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and fellow EMS professionals as we mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

Rest easy, Jeff. Your watch has ended, but your legacy lives on.

It is with profound sadness that Harris County EMS announces the passing of Paramedic Yun Nye.

Although Yun’s time with Harris County EMS was far too short, the impact she made on our department was anything but small. She first joined our team part-time and quickly became someone we knew we could count on. Yun was always willing to step in wherever she was needed, and her dedication and dependability ultimately earned her a full-time position with our department.

Yun was a rock. She was dependable, selfless, kind, and had a way of making people smile even on the hardest shifts. She was incredibly funny, refreshingly honest, and never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. Those qualities made her not only an exceptional coworker, but someone people genuinely looked forward to seeing when they came to work.

In a remarkably short amount of time, Yun became an important part of the Harris County EMS family. She was deeply loved by those who worked beside her, and she had a bright future ahead of her.

There are people who pass through our lives and people who leave a permanent mark on them. Yun did the latter. Our stations will be quieter without her laughter, our shifts will feel different without her presence, and she will be missed more than words can adequately express.

We extend our deepest condolences to Yun’s family, friends, loved ones, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Rest easy, Yun. We have it from here.
