LITTLE ONES IS FOUR!! 🎉

This past weekend marked four years since Little Ones’ doors opened! Four years of serving our Hammond community and surrounding areas. I am always blown away when we receive referrals from surrounding parishes and have parents willing to drive 45 minutes one way just to see us based on the positive things they’ve heard.

What started as a one-woman show has grown into a team of some of the most selfless, hardworking and talented SLPs that I know. I truly believe I have the best team and would go to bat for each and every one of them.

Over the last four years, we have been blessed to meet and work with nearly 500 families, some who joined me on day one and are still with us today. As a mom of three, I do not take for granted the opportunity to work with each of your babies and am humbled that you place your faith and trust in me and my team every single day.

Running a private practice in healthcare is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, but it is also one of the hardest. Most people do not see the planning, preparation, financial risk, difficult decisions, insurance struggles, paperwork and constant behind-the-scenes work that goes into keeping the clinic running. They don’t see the years of dreaming, praying and preparing that happened long before Little Ones ever opened its doors in 2022.

This clinic has always been more than just a business to me. It is something that I poured my heart into from the very beginning—to create a place where children can grow, families feel supported and my therapists feel valued.

I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you the long read. I’ll end with this—I hope that every family who walks through our doors feels seen, heard and loved. Thank you for trusting us with your little ones, supporting my dream and allowing us to be a small part of your family’s journey.

Let’s give a big, warm welcome to the newest Provisional Speech-Language Pathologist on the block—Ms. Lexie! 🤗

Ms. Lexie is a Tennessee native, a graduate of Ole Miss and brings with her a wealth of knowledge about feeding and swallowing disorders and oral-motor dysfunction in infants and children. When I first met her, I knew she would be the perfect addition to the Little Ones team!

In her spare time, you can find her trying out local restaurants, enjoying summertime adventures, spending days at the river or beach and anything purple—her favorite color!

Ms. Lexie is passionate about building confidence and developing communication while having FUN! Speaking our language, right 😉

Happy National Speech-Language Pathologist Day to all of the awesome SLPs out there! 🩷 Most people don’t realize all that goes into being a SLP—the emotional, mental and physical load that the profession carries. But we wake up and do it all over again, each and every day, to make a difference in the lives of the children that we work with.
