Play Partners was created to give our kiddos the opportunity to interact, communicate and play with one another while still having the one on one support of their SLP.

During our Play Partners group, each child’s SLP is present to help facilitate interactions and provide modeling, prompting, cueing and redirection as needed—helping each child build confidence and independence in their social interactions.

Through play, we can naturally target so many important skills like sharing & taking turns, requesting and communicating their wants and needs, conversational turn-taking, cooperative play and overall social interaction and engagement.

I say this all the time, but sometimes children are better models than we are as the professional!

Hearing that your child needs help can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Words like “delay, evaluation or speech therapy” can feel heavy. But the answer isn’t to wait. Sometimes the answer is to give your child the support they need right now.

Speech therapy is—helping them find their voice, helping them tell you what they need, helping decrease their frustration, helping them connect with others, feel heard and understood.

So if that little voice in the back of your head keeps saying, “I wonder if we should get some help”— listen to it. We are here to help!
