Good morning!
I appreciate your inquiries about updates and hope everyone is able to adequately plan their care after seeing this one.
Spending quality time at home with my children has been truly rewarding during these past few weeks. Hence, I have no immediate plans to return to an office setting in the immediate future.

I have carefully read all your messages and sincerely apologize for any inadequate care and difficult behavior you may have experienced in my absence from others caregivers. It was never my intention to leave you with substandard treatment. While I do plan on resuming my medical practice in the future, at present, my family needs me the most.

Thank you tremendously for your patronage and support. I would love to remain friends with each of you and appreciate you letting me care for you and your family members.

Now that my departure from the office has been formally announced, I would like to address a few points for those who are interested.

I have been deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern shown by all my patients. Your outreach means a great deal to me, knowing that you care about my well-being. I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well, and my decision to leave was difficult but well thought out. The decision to leave was personal and my employers were understanding and we are departing on amicable terms. I believe it is best for my family that I focus on my children during this season.
When we started Magnolia Community Academy microschool, I never anticipated that I would play such an active role in its daily operations. Over the last year I have grown to deeply appreciate it and it has allowed me to strengthen my bond with my children and husband which has been rewarding. I finally feel fully present in their lives. Nurturing the students at the school and being involved in my own children's education has been a fulfilling experience.

I informed the office of my departure three months ago and have been considering my future options since then. The numerous opportunities presented to me have been overwhelming and truly humbling. I know I will continue to practice medicine in some
capacity but am not sure which opportunity will work best for our family at this time.

Again, I am uncertain about the path ahead, but I am content and grateful to be on this journey. Thank you to everyone who will be following up on these updates in the coming days. I will make my final decision in the next few weeks.

Three and a half years ago I was privileged to be offered a position to join the medical team at Family Medicine Physicians. Over the past years I have felt well supported and have been able to care for some amazing patients.

However, on April 26, 2024, I will be stepping away from my position with the practice and know you will be in great hands with my colleagues who remain available for appointments.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your healthcare journey, I have sincerely enjoyed serving you. I know the question will surface as to what I am going to be doing in the future and when I settle on that decision I will let my followers know as soon as possible.

What is your role?

I am an Assistant Professor of Addiction Medicine with the Tulane Addiction Medicine Fellowship. I serve as the Medical Director of Longbranch's Residential Treatment Center, NS IOP, NORA House, and Next Steps Monitoring Programs.

What led you to work in the substance abuse industry?

I decided to pursue additional training in addiction medicine because I wanted to be a part of the solution. Not part of the problem. I enjoy the continuity of care and helping people change and grow as they enter long-term sobriety.

Why Longbranch?

I rotated at Longbranch as a physician in training & immediately felt very comfortable with its philosophy & staff. I appreciate Longbranch's multi-interdisciplinary approach to substance use disorder treatment & its emphasis on non-pharmacologic treatments. Longbranch focuses on treating addiction as a brain disease using Twelve Step Facilitation. I am proud of the work we do at Longbranch & am grateful to be part of the Longbranch family.

What is something that you do for self-care that you can recommend to other providers in the treatment industry?

I attend to my mental health by seeing a therapist regularly! Highly recommend!

How many parents would be interested in a small group open forum session on the neurobiology of childhood ADHD?

I find this very important for parents in my practice to understand as this sets the basis for many symptoms your child may be exhibiting. This also helps you to understand ways to help with behavior management and how medications work if parents choose to use them.

Good Evening Everyone!

In the past few weeks our office was able to make a major upgrade. We transitioned to Athena health system which makes real time care of the patient much easier.

Our portal system will soon be allowing patients to schedule their own appointments online!

There is direct access to messaging, medication refills, and more streamlined communication regarding your health.

This is healthy growth for our practice! Thank you so much for sticking by us during the chaos. Anyone who has switched electronic health records will tell you it’s not for the faint of heart! 🫀
