🥕🌽 Happy Eat Your Vegetables Day! 🌽🥕

Living in rural Carroll County, we know a thing or two about fresh vegetables. Whether they come from your garden, the local farmers market, or your neighbor who planted way too many zucchini again this year, today is a great reminder to add a little color to your plate!

Vegetables help support:
✅ Heart health
✅ Healthy blood pressure
✅ Strong immune systems
✅ Better digestion
✅ More energy for all those summer projects

Remember, french fries don't count as a vegetable just because they started as a potato. 😄

Challenge yourself today:
🥕 Add an extra serving of vegetables to dinner.
🌽 Try a vegetable you've never eaten before.
🍅 Sneak a few more veggies onto the grill.

Your body will thank you—even if your taste buds are still negotiating with the broccoli.

From all of us at Hampstead Primary Care, here's to healthy habits, homegrown goodness, and keeping our community healthy one bite at a time!

💜 Scleroderma Awareness Week 💜

This week, we join patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals in recognizing Scleroderma Awareness Week.

Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune disease that causes the body to produce too much collagen, leading to thickening and hardening of the skin and, in some cases, affecting internal organs. Because symptoms can vary widely, early recognition and ongoing medical care are important.

At Hampstead Primary Care, we believe in compassionate, patient-centered care and supporting those living with chronic health conditions. We encourage everyone to learn more about scleroderma, raise awareness, and support those affected by this challenging disease.

💜 Know the signs.
💜 Support research and awareness.
💜 Show compassion for those living with invisible illnesses.

Together, we can help increase understanding and improve lives.

🌿✨ Happy National Herbs & Spices Day! ✨🌿

Today, we’re celebrating the flavorful herbs and spices that do more than enhance our meals—they may also offer health benefits that have been recognized for centuries.

Many common herbs and spices contain natural compounds that can support overall wellness:

🌱 Ginger – Often used to help ease nausea, aid digestion, and reduce inflammation.

🧄 Garlic – May support heart health by helping maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

🌿 Turmeric – Contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound that may help support joint health.

🌱 Peppermint – Commonly used to soothe digestive discomfort and promote relaxation.

🌿 Cinnamon – May help support healthy blood sugar levels when combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

🌱 Rosemary – Rich in antioxidants and has been traditionally used to support memory and concentration.

🌿 Chamomile – Frequently enjoyed as a tea to promote relaxation and support restful sleep.

While herbs and spices can be a healthy addition to your diet, they should not replace prescribed medications or medical treatment. Some herbs can interact with medications or may not be appropriate for everyone.

Adding a variety of herbs and spices to your meals is a simple way to boost flavor while potentially supporting your overall health! Feel free to ask us at your next visit which herbs are safe for you!

🛡️ Medicare Fraud Prevention Week 🛡️

Protecting your health also means protecting your personal information.

During Medicare Fraud Prevention Week, we want to remind our community to stay alert and safeguard against scams that target older adults and Medicare recipients.

Helpful tips to stay safe:
✔ Never share your Medicare number with unknown callers
✔ Be cautious of “free” medical equipment offers
✔ Review your Medicare statements carefully
✔ Watch for billing charges for services you didn’t receive
✔ Hang up on callers asking for personal or banking information

In small towns, neighbors look out for neighbors — and that includes helping each other stay informed and protected.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and ask questions. Your healthcare team is here to help support your health and your peace of mind. 💙

💙 June is Men’s Health Month 💙

Men’s health matters — and taking care of yourself is one of the best things you can do for your family, your future, and your community.

At Hampstead Primary Care, we encourage men of all ages to make their health a priority by:
✔ Scheduling annual checkups
✔ Monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol
✔ Staying active
✔ Managing stress
✔ Getting enough sleep
✔ Speaking up about mental health

Too often, men put their health on the back burner. This month is a reminder that prevention, early detection, and healthy habits can make a big difference.

Strong communities start with healthy neighbors. We’re here to support your health every step of the way. 💪
