What a day!

Today, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Overflow, a new space at Hampton Proton designed to support the caregivers and loved ones who stand beside our patients. 💚

Featuring experiences centered on rest, recharge, support and resources, Overflow offers caregivers a place to take a breath and find a moment of comfort while caring for someone they love.

We’re incredibly grateful to Gwendolyn Porter and Kashmir Hyder of Alex’s Sunnyside Playroom for helping make this vision possible, and to GC Commercial for helping bring this special space to life.

Thank you for helping us create a space where those who care for others can feel cared for, too. 💙

For 16 years, Hampton Proton has been bringing advanced proton therapy to patients as Virginia’s first proton therapy center to open its doors.

Proton therapy is a specialized form of radiation treatment that targets tumors while helping limit radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.

We’re beginning Breast Cancer Awareness Month by sharing Barre’s story. 🩷

Barre’s connection to Hampton Proton is unlike most—she was part of our team before becoming a patient herself following her breast cancer diagnosis.

Throughout her proton therapy treatment, Barre was able to maintain her quality of life and continue working, giving her a unique perspective on the care and compassion she had long witnessed from the other side. 🔔

In this full-length testimonial, Barre opens up about her experience as both a member of our team and a patient, and the perspective that came with seeing Hampton Proton from both sides.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that proton therapy can help people not only fight cancer, but continue living their lives throughout treatment.
